LOL, I think this thread is a perfect example of what is wrong with our inner cities. You can't discuss things without it boiling down to one side calling the other racist. We like to point fingers, but nothing gets done and kids keep dying. Keep it up guys, keep it up....

I can only speak for myself. I never called or insinuated he was racist. However, he made a comment that blacks do not care bout life. I just asked for clarity. Did he mean all blacks or a subsection. He then chose to make a smart-arse comment about just the "hood" folks.

It was just plain ignorance.

Yeah, I didnt see any issues with anything else he said related to the actual topic-Jubilee. It's really sad when a mentor like that throws in the towel.

I was talking about the hood. I said blacks don't care about life. In the context of my post, I meant hoodrats not all blacks clearly. I understand why you interpreted it that way (cuz I didn't clearly reference that hood blacks don't care about life). Of course there are a shite ton of good black folks that care about life and want to make a difference (DJ Jubilee being an example). I'm talking about hoodrats. I went to West Jeff so I know exactly what DJ Jubilee is talking about.

People like you are why this problem isn’t solveable.
More concerned about perceived racism than the actual problem.

Reparations and midnight basketball leagues will fix this

Is this the monkey on a stick guy?

Nah, the "Get Ready, Get Ready" guy.

I went to Ehret and definitely get what both of you are talking about.

Yes. He is the King of New Orleans Bounce music, and, by all accounts, a stellar human being.
Hearing the pain in his voice in this interview is gut-wrenching. He has given his heart and soul to try to make a difference for his community. When stand up citizens like him get burned out, all hope is lost.

"Monkey on a stick" is a dance move within Get it Ready.

He performed at a friend's birthday party. He seemed legit.

Man I haven’t heard that in forever. It was fairly new when I was in high school

It was a staple at every high school dance during the 90s and 00s. It might still be for all I know.

Jubilee’s lost 39 young athletes over the years to violence and now he says the at-risk youth seem unreachable.
You talk to them today, and they are in jail tomorrow. We have a serious problem,” says Jubilee.
“Statistics are there. Crime is there, but nobody wants to say it’s there and that’s another situation on its own,” says Jubilee.
If more people like him would speak up instead of try to sweep it under the rug, or just blame white people or guns.. Changes just might happen.
Good on this man.

He can spend a few hours a day with these kids, giving them positive influence.
And then they go home and 27 negative influences pulling at them.

It starts in the homes.
When you have a culture of single moms who act out in public, that education is for white people, and that its cool to rap about killing black people and treating women like shite, this is what you get.

Ehh all the black leaders never speak about it, BLM never speaks about it, The Black president never spoke about it.
So yeah it is a black people problem. White people cant fix this.
