Over employed - learned this term on Reddit

This appears to be deceitful people who target WFH jobs, multiple jobs - as in
2-4 jobs, whereby they split their working time and earn 2-4 salaries until they get caught / fired.
Whole subreddit on it.
Maybe I’m new to the scene. New one for me. All kinds of strategies on how to get and manage multiple full time jobs while WFH.
Pathetic if you ask me.

Pretty easy to filter if you just ask for references from prior employers.

As long as the work asked of them is being done well and on time, who gives a shite? C-level execs can serve on boards for several companies at a time.

Nobody really does this anymore. Companies nowadays pretty much only confirm you worked there, very (and I mean VERY) rarely will they actually give any sort of performance feedback. People are too litigious these days and companies know it.

why is it pathetic? if your WFH job requires so little that you can handle 3-4x the amount...that is on them.
what if they work 1 for 6-8 hours then do the other? is that not the same as having a night gig?
and are we paying people to do a job or for their time....two different things. if you are paying for time, then dont allow wfh to begin with.

I knew a guy that did this. Had two full time jobs that were both remote. I wasn’t very close with him so I don’t have details but I can’t fathom how he was able to pull that off.

This isn't happening. People are not performing their work well for any of them. They know they'll be fired eventually. This isn't working multiple jobs to make ends meet. It's lying to organizations and essentially stealing from them.

Rare but doable.
I'm no math whiz but I don't think anyone is working 24-32 hours a day (3-4 full time jobs).

Yes I'm sure he's the man. We aren't talking about our exceptional buddies. I've seen this for years and I've never encountered someone who did it that was a good worker. In fact each time it was discovered because we were reviewing poor performance.

Why? I knew someone who double dipped on contract gigs for years. Did such a good job, that one of the companies she was doing it to, ended up offering her a traveling role at 1.5 x the money. She still kept a side gig.
Knew a guy who worked as a recruiter for three companies at one time for a little over a year, until he had to drop one. Still does it.
