without a dramatic increase in cases, deaths, or hospitalizations, the "lockdown" will not continue to June
the "lockdown" will most likely end at the beginning of May and then we will have "social distancing" through May, but it will not be as strict as we are currently
I think a lot of this "through May" talk are people conflating "stay at home" and "social distancing"

I just hope the data removes all cover for JBE to extend the lockdown past April 30.
If the data and models give him any cover at all for extending it, I think he will, and I don't think there's an end date on that.

yeah my main worry with JBE is that we have a good 2 weeks then have a little 2-3 day spike and everyone freaks out again and JBE extends for another 2 weeks

My employer is enforcing the WFH deal through May (Fortune 250 company).
June 1st is when even states like NY will loosen things considerably. There will still be spread but hopefully not as severe. I'll continue to have concerns until there's widespread availability of a vaccine or some medicine discovered that lessens symptoms. We're finally getting to the point of maybe "flattening the curve" but the virus isn't just vanishing...it'll be back.

I wouldn’t mind going back to the office to work a couple days a week. We’re an essential business but what I do can all be done remotely. But this grind of trying to work all day with a wife and three kids is dragging. There’s the bonus of some lunchtime sex if the baby is napping but the downside is a mid morning poop diaper change.

I don't know why people feel the need to keep saying this. What moron think the virus is just disappearing?

Trump, with Fauci support, will say to start opening up some industries and businesses during April with restrictions.
Others, like movie theaters and large gathering locations, they will recommend opening in May.
Governors and mayors will refuse to accept their recommendations.
People will start pushing back against the shutdowns soon, and opinion appears to have started to shift already.
We are going up by 6 million+ unemployment claims every week and people think we can keep going like this for 4-6 more weeks?

41% of the US population thinks dinosaurs and humans coexisted. There are more morons out there than we'd like to admit.

Not going to be a single "all open" date. It will be done in steps IMO. And I think things will start to open at the end of April/first part of May. It may differ from location to location.
IMO there are lots of things that can be opened now. Things like botanical gardens, parks and zoos where distancing can be maintained. I don't think people are going to stand for stretching this out.
