A very good friend of mine has to go through chemo every 3 weeks, but you're right, that must be much worse.

It's not really a top 20 real life problem.

You're gonna let them decide whether to hire you or not? No, demand that shite. Carry your arse back over there now and tell them you start tomorrow.

not to rain on your parade, but I have never gotten a job where I didn't hear from them within 24-48 hours after an interview.

..any longer and I received a letter or email.

A pregnant wife that miscarried on the previous one constantly having panic attacks that something is wrong and having to wait a few days/weeks until her next doctor's appointment is roughly around 9,734% worse.

Sweet Christ. You are in for a very rude awakening one day. Here's some things that are worse:

Waiting for the results of a cancer or other serious disease screen
Getting diagnosed with cancer or other serious disease
Divorce/Break-up with an SO
Major Depression
Not able to pay the bills
Being raped/loved one being raped
Getting in a car crash
Having stuff stolen from you
Becoming addicted to drugs/watching a loved one descend into drug addiction
Suicide attempt/loved one suicide attempt

And that's just 10 of about 30 others that is currently popping into my head. I'd bet waiting to hear back from an interview realistically wouldn't be in the Top 100 of the worst things one can experience.

I can kind of understand this if you are unemployed and trying to support a wife and kids, and if you are the lone source of income for them.

If not then you are doing it wrong. The OT doesn't ask for jobs. The jobs beg for the OT.
