Nah. Trophy hunting is specifically hunting for trophy animals.

Trophy hunting is hunting for anything that you consider a trophy, i.e., not for meat.

It's okay. I understand that you don't want to admit that you are a sport hunter (assuming you hunt). I hunt for meat, but it's sport hunting. If I quit tomorrow, I would still live perfectly fine, because I can get all of my food at the store. Someone living in the Alaskan wilderness, however, may not have that luxury. If they quit tomorrow, they'd probably die of starvation after all of their food was gone, assuming they had no other way to get to food.

There's no such thing as "just hunting".

Absolutely ZERO reasons to be hunting Giraffes.

We need to be better than this.

And just when I thought there wouldn't be any more idiots who didn't read the article...or the myriad of posts about idiots not reading the article.

OT never disappoints.

Go frick yourself if you think for any reason a non predator should be “hunted” outside of natural means.

I don’t give a flying frick if it was for any effort or the legality of it.

You are reducing a non predator’s population for personal enjoyment.

this is where I get hung up.

I can hunt for a trophy and also put the fines piece of venison backstrap on the table and chow down while looking at the shoulder mount on the wall

This animal was unable to reproduce, killed 3 younger bulls who could, and provided a frick ton of meat for the village.

It was essentially put down, but they let a rich attention whore pay them to do it.

I cannot imagine getting any joy out of shooting a beautiful animal like that. Subhuman trash.

Enjoying steak or lobster at a restaurant is no different.
