That was true long ago. Times have changed.

My advice?

Always always always hire a layer in the county the ticket is from. It won't be any cheaper than the ticket, but it's rarely more. The ticket will go non moving violation.

Pay your real cop tickets.

If you are in Louisiana both Arkansas and Louisiana are part of the Driver’s License Compact. They share information, including suspension of licenses and ticket information. The home state applies the foreign state violation as if it occurred in the home state.

Good luck ignoring it and hoping they will just let it go. Think logically for just a moment. If you could just ignore tickets when in other states why would anybody obey the laws when traveling to a foreign state?

You don’t have to pay it but that means you can never go into the state of Arkansas again.

Most "construction" zone fine multipliers are only applicable when workers are present.

This happened to me once on the I-10 at bluebonnet. The very day the speed limit signs and construction worker signs went out the State Police were there writing tickets.

I did a little research and found out the construction company changed the signs therefore changing the "speed limit". Legally the speed limit never changed only the sign did AND the folks that did it weren't authorized to do it.

I had the info and went to court. The ADA talked to me before the hearing about it. She tried to intimidate me in to pleading guilty. I told her "no problem, we can just go before the judge and have all the tickets thrown out. I'm have fun with this anyway, might as well get my moneys worth". Case dismissed. She was glad to see me walk away.

Brother...it’s not the cars choice to speed.

You’re not the sharpest crayon in the box are you? Good luck getting that shift supervisor job at the plant with this attitude.

i’m going to pay it

Assuming you're not trying to be a weasel and you would really have trouble paying the ticket all at once, contact the prosecutor that's got your case and see if you can work out a lower payment for a lesser infraction or if they will accept a payment plan from you. If you're proactive about these things, the courts will often work with you in the interests of increasing the efficiency of their docket and keeping you out of the courtroom where all kinds of wacky shite can happen.

TBH, though, I'm kinda hoping they end up extraditing you and you do hard time in an Arkansas prison.

Yep, if you don't pay it they will probably suspend your license so when you get pulled over in whatever state they will nail you for it. I had a ticket years ago in Oklahoma, my friends dad was the judge and he told me he would take care of it. He eventually did but not until my license got suspended and then had to jump through freaking hoops....

he was a jerk insofar as he couldn’t explain to me why he was giving me a construction violation when there were no signs or workers present. He said the cones were enough. This was on memorial day.

look dude, it’s an accident and i’m paying for it. $340 isn’t a walk in the park for a guy like me so I was seeing what I could do to lessen it. It’s clear the guy pulled me over because i was out of state and fell into his trap. I’ve never gotten in a wreck or gotten a speeding ticket before. I only make $800 a month so this is almost half my paycheck. I learned my lesson trust me.

I'm 31 and have gotten a few nice size speeding tickets

However, I understand that by speeding I am risking a ticket and it's a risk that I'm willing to take. I don't sit back and make excuses like you have done here

yes agreed if i ever speed i willingly take that risk

but if you read this thread you would’ve realized that i wasn’t in a rush and thought i was going the speed limit.

being 31 i foolishly thought you might’ve had life experiences where cops set up purposeful speed traps and you are caught unintentionally speeding in a foreign state. my apologies

Yeah, I was pulled over for being in BFE Texas with Tennessee plates.
I was in the right lane getting passed non stop.
I get pulled over and officer said. "Son what are you doing out here" I said , going home, I took this route from Hutto"
He tells me to get back to 290 and writes me a ticket for doing 80 in a 55. I explain I was in the right lane getting passed.
He just said, "my radar said your speed" of course I couldn't see it.

Texas state troopers are usually pieces of shite. I'll never forget the one who made me unload a trailer on the side of i10 in Texas so he could search for drugs. Half my shite ended up in the road. I actuality filed a formal complaint on him. As it went no where I didn't do the same for old Giddings redneck.

Yes, in Texas in small towns they will frick with you for out of state plates.
