Good thing you’re going with Jerry Callo and not Jerry Gallo, because unlike Desalvo, Jerry Gallo is dead.

That’s what I’ve heard. You pay the entirety of a six figure retainer or he won’t take your case.

Yeah I Don’t know how much Lewis is still doing. He’s up there in age and was slowing down ten years ago. I wouldn’t pay a bucket of warm spit for Lance.

Yeah we hired Lewis a few years ago and he was there for the preliminary meeting, but it was Lance all the way after that. He actually did a good job for us.

He used to be a majorly disorganized mess who made silly, easily avoidable procedural screws ups often. Glad to see nothing has changed in ~10 years haha

If its tax issues, John Williams out of Shreveport. Easily top 3 tax lawyers in La, but he is more on the planning to not have you have tax law problems side.

Monroe:
LaValle Salomon aka Val is the man. More swagger than an 70's pimp. The go to defense counsel in North Louisiana.
Cameron Murray is damn good as well.

Baton Rouge:
Jim Boren - Awarded in by the National Association of Criminal Defense (NACDL) Lawyers as a Champion of Justice in 2023.
Rodney Massina.

New Orleans:
Buddy Lemann, Sr. (just passed away, not sure of his son's reputation yet. Pretty big shoes to follow..)

The top criminal defense attorney are members of the NACDL, the American Board of Criminal Lawyers, and usually ranked as a Super Lawyer by Find Law. (Super Lawyers are peer nominated.)

(now, when you get in to some backwoods small Parishes or Counties, you have to associate or bring in the local courthouse favorite.)

I went to LS with JA. I thought he was big time and had a good rep. I had no idea that was his reputation from lawyers.

Ambeau has an interesting case pending in 19th where he is a named defendant along with his client, who is also an attorney. The actions causing rise to the suit occurred in Ascension, presenting false evidence.
