This girl ran for SG President 2019-2020 and lost. She does lean left though.

In her defense though, LSU asked her to bring a Bill to SG to charge every student around $400 for the 2019-2020 academic year and beyond to fund a new library. She made sure the bill never made it to the Senate floor for a vote or else LSU would have done it.

From my sources: Cat thinks she is now twitter famous and has a pretty big head over all of this. She claims that she will be interviewed by CBS or some shite.

It just so happens that yesterday an LSU Grad was named director of comms for CBS News.

Of course she is getting interviewed.

Someone needs to explain how the TAF operates...
She actually tweets that she understands this she just wants to control HOW and WHERE TAF spends their privately funded money. She thinks because they have a quarter billion dollars that TAF should give some to LSU. Spoken like a true socialist.

They are getting that way from what I knew of them. My wife use to do a lot of design work for all the public universities in Tennnessee. All the ones doing big redesigns to the libraries have basically made them 90% or more study space. Books/magazines/etc are all going electronic for the most part with the exception of rare collections.

So, what are you saying is that libraries aren't obsolete but are appropriately adapting to the 21st century?

Libraries are obsolete. Invest is server storage and sitting areas.

I don’t recall the last time 400,000 people paid to stand around cheering for a room full of books.

No. They are obsolete. The world has become paperless.

Outside of a space for collectible/historic documents, they are unneeded.

Is what it is.

They are very much needed. Just because you don't personally use a library doesn't mean they are obsolete.

Libraries are typically quite busy in my city.

Yeh, she leans more than a little left. Her dad should hang his head in shame.

At the very least, is it too much to ask that LSU’s library remain open on game days?

I’d tear down our library if it gave us a National title

Because of political differences? That's kind of shitty. She has pretty good grades at LSU and doesn't get in to any trouble. I don't see why the dad should be ashamed, she will probably grow out of it. Her dad is a Marine btw, pretty conservative. She is probably still in the rebellious stage.

Start a Tiger Academic Foundation so that you too can get private donations to remodel the library.
