Ouachita woman charged with murder in baby's death

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a baby.

According to court records, it happened March 12, 2020, in the 1100 block of Evergreen Street in Ouachita Parish.

Investigators say they received a call in response to a 9-month-old child not breathing.

A witness told investigators that he found Heather Hall, 28, sleeping in bed with her three children. He told investigators that Hall's legs were on top of the baby and the baby was not breathing, records state. Court records state that Heather then woke up, grabbed the child and ran into the kitchen where she dropped the baby on the floor and another witness began performing CPR.

Authorities say Hall admitted to using meth on March 10 and admitted to using ecstasy prior to going to sleep in the same bed as her three small children. Records state that Hall said she awoke to find her child dead at the end of the bed.
