You definitely came to the experts then. I would chance, it, OP. Don't let The Man tell you what you can and cannot do with your own life.

Uhaul

UHaul doesn’t give a shite either. I went in one time to rent a 20’ flatbed, when asked what it going to be pulled by I said a Jeep. They said they couldn’t do it due to weight for that vehicle so I said “Oh okay gotcha....well I need to rent the same trailer...unrelated to the first question and it’s for a uhhhh....Silverado I guess?”.

Guy rang me up and helped me hitch it to the Jeep. They don’t give a shite. Full disclosure this was just to bring home some aluminum sheets for a deck roof but they didn’t give me any issues.

UHaul does not care. You can tell them you plan on setting it on fire and they’ll still give it to you no questions asked.

What are the potential repercussions if you don't pay this and say you're not towing and tow anyways.

If anything comes to litigation I think that is called fraud.

Just curious, you have a large boat but no vehicle to tow it?

It's 650 miles each way and my vehicle is older. Works for the landings around town but I don't want to put that strain on the transmission.

How big a boat we talking about? You know they have folks that move boats for a living. Maybe look into that.
