Too low.

Your basal metabolic rate (how much calories you would burn if you slept all day) along with what you are doing day-to-day (other than gym time) is probably greater than this.

Up your calories to 3,000 and track it via My Fitness Pal, and try to burn 3,500 cals per day.

saying up to 3000 is dumb. Its about his TDEE. Like the poster posted above you, use the IIFYM calculator, put those macro goals in MFP and try to get within 10% of them daily and you will lose weight. Readjust every 10 lbs you lose.

His TDEE is approximately 2781 kcal.

3000 would be 10% bulking.

2225 kcal is 20% cut.
2365 kcal is 15% cut.

Yeah I see the end result of lifting for weight loss at the gym everyday, if you could take a pic from the pecs up those guys look great. But then there is the gut......

And one place you never see a meathead, the cardio area or track.

sure you do buddy. plenty of bodybuilders don't have guts. I don't have gut at all and am at 12% bf and at 33 I haven't run more than a 100 yards at a time in close to a year. running long distance is a waste of damn time.

thank you. at his size and BF he could could even go really aggressive and do -30% until he gets down to about 17%bf and not lose muscle so long as he continues to lift.

It won't hurt or help you. Do you prefer to skip meals? Do it. I do it. It all balances out in the end.

I think his TDEE is closer to 3500, not 2781.

Too many factors are unknown: His age, bf, workout intensity etc..

I don't care if his TDEE is 5000 calories, when it is that much you can easily get away with huge deficits and so long as protein is high or you are doing a form or keto, you will not lose muscle.

hell i just did lyle mcdonalds rapid fat loss handbook diet which is a really strict version of PSMF and I didn't lose any muscle even though I was only taking in 1200 cals a day.

I also did a fat fast for a week and even though I was only taking in 1100 cals a day and only 25 to 40g of protein I didn't lose any muscle.

But in the three weeks I was on those diets I did lose 2.5" off my waste while not doing any cardio other than walking.

Reading your other thread atm, I actually got up and hit the gym to do cardio. I did 15 mins on incline treadmill and 1000m rowing, is that cool?

your tdee is around 2700. you should start your cut around 2200 cals and macros should be

Protein-200g
Carbs-200g
Fat-65g

you can adjust if need be if you don't like carbs very much and like fattier meat. Whatever just try to get within 10% of this and try and get stronger.

Same advice holds true for IF. just try and move around alot while in the fasted state. Morning walks while fasted are great for fat loss.

if you are walking on the treadmill thats great. just don't over do it.

look diet will be your way to lose the fat. the walking and other cardio is just to help speed it up a little. the weightlifting is to maintain muscle so you don't look like a long distance runner.
