I've lost 65 pounds in the last 4 and a half months. I lift 4 days a week currently. I switched up my diet based on what days I lift. I keep it between 1500 and 1800 calories daily. But on lift days it is entirely protein loaded. Low calorie sugar free shakes, beef jerky, almonds, chicken breast etc.
On days I don't lift I go mostly vegetable and fruit based. Cucumbers and tomatoes, Salads, Spagetti quash, Bananas, apples etc.
Just that little switch up seemed to break most of my plateaus. I still hit one about every three weeks or so but it only lasts 7 to 10 days at most.
all that said everyone is different, but switching it up to see if something else works is never bad. Trying modifying your lifts too. Back squats this week, Front squats next. Bar bench one week, Dumbbells next etc etc.
Thanks man, appreciate it.

Going to need a pic of your arm to answer correctly.

Prob 5 max per set. It's my heaviest currently. I'd include squat but due to a shattered right leg, my squats are shite and I'm only around 215 on those after rehab.

This is great and all, but how many calories are you consuming and what are you doing in the gym?

Well I've only been at it for a year but I'd like to think I'm doing well there? No?

You are eating too much. Get a food scale.

If I warmed up and hit 225, I'd blast out 20 or so right now at a BW of 190.

According to MFP, my daily goal is 2270 per day. As for program, I'm currently doing the Beginner's Strongman 5x5 I believe it is?

It was from what a nutritionist told me. Start thinking of food as fuel. What kind of fuel do I need for what I am doing today. It really helps to make you think about what you are putting in your body and what it is used for.
Its the same priciple as body builders taking supplements before and after lifts you are just applying it to food

Good for you? I'm not doing a dick measuring contest with you guys. I'm sure there's plenty of you who lift much better weight than I do.

As long as youre making steady progress and feel good then keep going. Your numbers will get there. It depends on where you started.

Yeah maybe not a half the first week but a gradual entry.
But what will happen here is 12-15 pages of nonsense to include the poor guy weighing and putting his stool under a microscope when all he has to do is stay on his diet and start running.
dude will you stfu. Nobody needs to run other than some sprints. I am happy you like looking like a skinny fat douche bag but most people don't want to look like that. They want to have muscles, not look like a anorexic vegan a-hole.
Running sucks for losing weight. It is very very inefficient. If he wants to do something other than weight lifting then do sprints, prowler pushes, jump ropes or better yet at his size he should be doing tabatas on an airdyne bike, rower or if he wants something not as intense he should swim.
the guy is fricking almost 250 lbs. last thing he needs is more wear and tear on his knees.
and I know this will piss alot of people off, but I am going to say it anyways. 95% of people who run long distance are pussies, not all but most are.

lsu777, like someone posted earlier... the guy sounds like he's not eating enough so the body is storing the little calories he's taking in.
Bro science.

Too low.
Your basal metabolic rate (how much calories you would burn if you slept all day) along with what you are doing day-to-day (other than gym time) is probably greater than this.
Up your calories to 3,000 and track it via My Fitness Pal, and try to burn 3,500 cals per day.

I run and lift, and look like a god.
Yeah I see the end result of lifting for weight loss at the gym everyday, if you could take a pic from the pecs up those guys look great. But then there is the gut......
And one place you never see a meathead, the cardio area or track.

nobody gives a frick what you can do. Its about him making progress and getting stronger compared to what he was doing. Thats all that matter as far as strength goes. He isn't competing with anybody.

You say:
..and then say..
Those poundages for your BW are very sub-standard.
