OT weed experts...

I'm trying to put down a particular strain of horsetail from my ditch. I got about 175' along the Highway.
What I'm dealing with is pictured in the link. Ive contacted D Gill at LSU and he said there's not much i can legally do other than cut it often and this will slow the growth down. I dont have that kinda time or energy because it's a lot. Ive tried every spray sold on shelves. Currently i use a strong mix of muratic acid which knocks it back for a few weeks at best (this plant has a high silica content). This has been a six year battle.
My next attempt will be to drop several bags of rock salt in the ditch. I'm sure this will bring on new types of weed, even if it works, but Roundup should take care of that.
Any other suggestions?

Not familiar with that strain, is it a sativa, indica or hybrid?

Pramitol 25E will kill it, but it will kill everything growing, its some very potent stuff, but if you're spraying muriatic acid, sounds like you dont mind.

Yes i read the article. Along with a hundred others just like it over the years. That's why i asked for ideas. Coonasses can be genius at times.

What makes you so confident? I'm not doubting you, because I've never heard of the stuff. If it's some sort of "kill everything"spray, I've tried several. Do you need a license to get this stuff?
I don't mind killing everything. It's a ditch. Then my problem will be simply to pick out the cans and bottles jackasses throw out their window.

Soak it with diesel. A neighbor had the same problem and this was the only thing that worked.

No i have not tried diesel. For one, I'd rather not deal with the potential consequences of that. And two, i have my doubts that it'd be any more effective than the acid, unless i dumped a couple barrels in the ditch which I'm not going to do.
