Looks like a Rolex submariner homage, in which case you could have gotten a similar one for less money.

Kind of reminds me of the "Hulk"

Really like it so far

Sounds like if I get more into there are some different movements I could pick

You know you're from the North when you use the term "duty free." Duty free shops in NY/NJ airports are good for people who have money during layovers.

Never understood the fascination with expensive, traditional watches. Once I got a good smartwatch the Rolex went in the drawer for good.

Houma, what smart watch did you go with?

Rolex are generally poor style, but holy shite they're just making fun of whoever buys that.

Not sure if serious. I bought my Rolex specifically because it was the most conservative and classic style ever produced. If this is poor style to you, then I can’t really imagine what your version good style is.

Well I've already posted it here, wearing it right now. I don't like the crinkle bezel or the wide lugs or the bracelet...but I'm one person. Why do people GAF? I have my own style and that's it. I don't like Mercedes...so what? I respect the engineering, don't like the style or the intended market segment. No big deal.

Your watch is VERY NICE. I would never argue the contrary.

They are a large grey market dealer that is very reputable.

I'm convinced they sell Chinese bootlegs. There's a reason they don't come with manufacturer warranties

lol If you spend more than $1000 on a watch from there

I looked up grey market because never heard it

Basically they are selling international watch and screwing the US distributor. Us distributor is like we'll frick that not fixing watch then. So sounds like same watch, but not.sold by us distributor.

That said if I bought mine in Turks is it "grey market"?

To your point it very well could be a knock off.

You really don't know what you're getting. People who buy watches from there don't know the movements well enough to tell if it's a fake. And again I cant help but laugh at people who spend $1k-5k on watches from there thinking they've got some great deal but they end up with a watch with no waranty.

you're solid. It's when you get into higher end watches and you've got guys getting 2-$3k discounts that it becomes really suspect.

Bought a $5k Tag from Tourneau and had someone ask me why I didn't just get it from Jomashop. I was like errr...

5k Tag? Yikes.

They are grey market because they are not authorized dealers. You can't use the original warranty. However, jomashop uses their own warranty.

My ideal collection would be

Omega speedy pro
Some type of diver Tudor Black Bay or Submariner
Stowa Flieger type B
Tissot le locle
G Shock for risky times

It's not. They wouldn't be in business still and have sold as much as they have if it were all knock offs being marketed as real. You can see that they are very legit if you do a bit of research. Pecker is a moron.

Jomashop isn't the only grey market / used dealer in the luxury watch market and they aren't even the largest. Tourneau probably is if I had to guess and they even have actual retail stores you can walk into. No one selling knock offs would have that.

As always do your own research before taking anyone's advice and spending money, though.

You do realize that Torneau is not an AD for all of the brands they carry? They have grey market items just like Jomashop and lol on spending $5K on a Tag.

Seems like my Raymond Weil has an international warranty so none are grey market.

I am happy not going to over think it.

That Christopher Ward stuff looks cool would do that next if there is a next
