Not steal the thread, but I saw a thread a few months back about a watch that had a sailfish type brand. I’ve tried to go back and find with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Wife just gifted me the sea master Planet Ocean chrono, so I’ve got to wait a bit;)

Your current Omega meets all your needs, Spend the money on tires, instead.

I have a dilemma with expensive watches. Was thinking of getting a grand seiko white birch (9k) but I feel pressured to get a Rolex because of peer pressure and how if it isn’t a Rolex they don’t care mentality. I know it sounds weak but resale and other gatherings I don’t want to have to explain why I got this over Rolex kinda thing.

It looks fantastic, and it's Swiss made so it's got to be of the highest quality.

Quite honestly I never heard of Oris til now, but this has peaked my curiosity

I don’t think so. Might not have been “sailfish” but something similar. Thanks though

Look on Chrono24, gently used Omegas go for around the same price as a new Oris Diver in some cases. But I'd highly recommend trying on a watch before purchasing, take a trip to the Galleria in Houston and make a day of it at Tag/Omega/Watch showrooms

And as far as that Tudor someone mentioned they're technically the same "house" as Rolex so it's very undervalued

Nope. Had several different types of band materials. One option might have been a seatbelt or something like that. The band I liked was a blue camo.

I’m a straight up redneck who was fine not wearing a watch unless I went out in my early 20’s. Back then I wore Kenneth Cole or Nixon watches and my nicest one was the Nixon player. Nice watches back then to me were Movado or a Tag that I never thought I would buy. I always had my wife buy me guns if she wanted to get me something nice. She finally said I have way too many guns and bought me a couple Movados and her brother gave me a Tag formula one so that kinda got me kick started on watches.

After joing Watch u seek I realized I had some middle of the mall shite and wanted a nice entry level watch. Next anniversary I made my first request on a Hamilton X-Wind and she bought it for me. A year or two later she bought my Omega for me while we were on vacation in Arizona so I officially became a watch guy.

On another note what 37” tire did you get? Where did you get them? I can’t find any toyo r/t in 37x13.5x20.that’s what I’ve been running and would like to stick with it. Will also need a set for 22” wheels soon. Their is a national backorder from what my tire shop says.

The nice thing about Rolex is that they are very much like currency (as much as really any watch can be). Especially if you can get your hands on a SS model from an AD and aren't paying a huge premium from a broker/grey. If you love Grand Seiko, fine, get one, but if you fall out of love with it, you'll take a hit. I've been thorough the whole Kubler-Ross like stages of watch collecting or accumulating (which to coin Obtuse is more what I do) and have realized the value of Rolex even more as the years have gone by. They are great to pass down, typically solid to trade up and would be no problem to stay healthy in a deal in the event should you need to unload for cash.
