I hate all the BS on trucks these days, thinking of selling my Silverado and finding a clean, late 90's model

I have a 2002 Sierra 1500 with 69K miles.

No 4WD which kinda sucks, but it's in great mechanical condition.

I just can't spend that much money on a newer truck.

The downside to the older models like mine is just the plastic shite starts to breakdown. The seats are fine but knobs, door handles are always breaking. Had to replace the dash because it cracked, etc.

But for my purposes, it does just fine and rides great. Just doesn't have all the bells and whistles.

Lot cheaper than a new truck for sure.

The late 90's, early 2000's trucks were some of the best, most reliable IMO

three months ago I bought a used Tacoma. Believe it or not, they are selling cars right now and are not negoating much. The one i ended up buying was pending sale but they guy was asking for too much off and walked away. I looked or called about at four different trucks on a Friday. By the following Friday they were all sold. Not sure how long that truck has been sitting but if you think 55 is a good deal you should buy it. As someone else mentioned, why don't you consider a Tundra even if it is slightly used?

Nah frick that. This guy is taking a principled stand against overpriced shite that depreciates. It’s priced this way because we have too many suckers in this world. I hope he holds firm.

Update #2 in OP.

Bro you sure showed them who the boss was. Congrats on being a cheap arse who doesnt want to spend an extra 5K on a vehicle with 22K miles on it.

Like clockwork, the guy called. Said he pulled a lot of strings but could do $55k but not a penny less. I said, well, I understand but can’t do more than $50k but thanked him for his efforts. I reminded him again about Friday being firm still. FWIW, I’ve decided anyway to go ahead and keep the Tundra another year. Going to bet he calls back before Friday tho with a better offer. Any takers?

God you’re a fricking loser

Does this apply to tractor cabs (18 wheeler) also? Im always looking for some edge to try and win over the DEF system that fricks me so much. Deleting is not an option at the moment.

Yes, anything that uses DEF will benefit

Those later Cummins engines have a couple issues. One being the heater grid fails and the pieces that break off toast your engine. Another in the #6 cylinder overheats and fails. There are aftermarket fixes for both.
