I used to have sleep paralysis about once a year. However in the past two months it's been happening almost weekly and everytime has been accompanied by "the intruder". "The intruder" takes a different form everytime but it's always evil. It freaks me out so bad that I have intense anxiety about going to sleep for days afterwards and here recently everytime I get over the anxiety it happens again. This is why I haven't slept for more than about 45 minutes tonight.

I've been down that road. Sucks.

What was the ending to your story about the weird stuff you were saying at night or did I just read over it?

The creature I always see looks and sounds like one of the Orcs from LOTR. He slowly crawls on the side of the bed towards me and then literally pops right up next to me. I can't move a muscle. Sometimes it's just a shadowy reptilian looking creature seated in the corner of the room making guttural hissing sounds.

I've only had one episode of sleep paralysis that included visuals. The whole room seemed to be foggy and there was a fast moving shadow figure in the room. All of my other episodes have been just scary from being unable to move.

my uncle died of a stroke at 33, his daughter was 2 at the time, i remember for years after when she was outside she would be looking up and laughing and talking, everytime we asked who she was talking to she would say her dad! she would say stuff like he doesnt have a headache anymore(he went to the hospital with a severe headache, and died hours later) and say he was drinking his coffee, which he always had! its crazy , but i think he would visit her!

There really was no end game other than cleaning my life up. I still don't know what to take from it, other than its possible it had been happening for a few years, and I'm convinced it stopped because it didn't want to be studied/recorded.

Not to derail the topic at hand, but that movie White Noise with Michael Keaton certainly freaked me out. Even more, after I did some reading up on the electronic voice phenomena (EVP) phenomenon,a and while there is nothing definite, it just seems to me that there could be a whole other reality that has this weird link to ours... I just wonder why we can't openly reciprocate? Is it real or just our attempts to deal with loss, explain the unexplainable, etc. How much of it is truly our minds tricking us because of this:

I mean think about it... if we could communicate with our loved ones that passed on, why is it so iffy or hit and miss? Is "the other side" so transcendental that attempts to communicate through children, inanimate objects, video/audio recordings, etc. are the only way to do so?

I guess it is true that you just don't know what you don't know... and anything that may or may not exist outside of our reality (and our own minds) is too abstract for us to comprehend at this point in our existence.

Imagine that realms exist in a sort of sheet, or plane. Now, like lighting, sometimes the two planes interact, and some places/people/things are more likely to have that metaphysical lightning strike them.

So... its like if communication between realms is a tornado, the best chance of communicating is if you live in a trailer park?

Because it's not real.

She says they come in through the door handle or "eat the door handle".

This is interesting. Have you ever noticed that most young children neglect the extremities when drawing pictures of people? The drawings usually have a large face (eyes and mouth) and limited hands and feet, if any.

Children (infants and toddlers) focus on faces until about the age of 3. At age 3-4, they begin to develop their fine motor skills and notice hands and fingers much more.

It seems that your daughter is imagining ghosts entering her room. In her 3-year old visualization, the ghosts have no hands. Therefore, they must use their mouths to open the door or "eat the handle."

Nothing to worry about, especially if she is not frightened.

BTW, when my brother "Chris" died last year, my 4 year-old old said: "Don't worry Daddy, he went back into "Family Guy." I think I would have preferred the ghosts.

Most of the people who will admit to having an experience with the afterlife, have had an experience with a deceased love one. I have encountered one person who claimed that she could see spirits. The spirits that she saw were in the living. She proved to me that it was real. I don't question the existence of the spiritual realm. Some people are more in tune with the spiritual world. I know that it is real. People who claim to be Christian, are claiming a belief in this truth.

We're all adults. Most of us have had an experience with a deceased love one.

There have been a lot of people in this thread with "proof." I do not think that words means what you think it means.
