Yes, when i was 16 i found my best friend dead..... I dont remember the call hardly at all! But i remember saying a few choice words and the operator telling me to calm down!! There was no calming down! I had just grabbed my dead friends arm trying to wake him up! Not easy to settle your nerves when that happens! Im 30 and still find myself hesitant to wake anybody up!
I have a buddy who drives big rigs and he took this picture of the same load! He hauls big stuff, the other day it was pieces of a windmill.... like the huge as blades! But even he was taken aback by this! He never said what he thought it was though!

Devery Henderson... Prolly a couple others, but hes the most recent..

If im in the woods hunting i wont shoot a bobcat, but this was in my parents backyard, a couple days after my moms dog was carried off by a coyote. Im looking to kill any and all predators that cross the fence into their yard!

So are you saying they would never go after a young kid? But yea i shot him because i wanted to! It wasnt him who got my moms dog, but very well could have been! Im out for vengeance for the little dog! Ill kill every bobcat and coyote that steps out in their backyard!
Im looking in to having him mounted! Before i could even say i wanted to, my wife suggested having him mounted! Her only request was that he not be "attacking" anything in the mount! She wants one of him just laying down or walking.

I had posted on the OT how my mom and daughter witnessed my moms rat terrier being attacked and carried off by a yote... Well ive tried a few times to lure one out but nothing yet. Yesterday evening me and my brother set up and started calling and about 20 minutes later this guy came out! My kids and my nephew play not 10 feet from where he was.

We never bring it up in front of her, unless she starts talking about it or asking why. Its only been a few days, but she will bring it up a few times each day. Most of the time she'll bring it up after dark. i sat her down a few times when she started not wanting to go in other rooms by herself and explained that i will not let nothing happen to her, especially not in our house! She said ok and seemed like she gets it but it doesnt last long.
And the coyote is very brave.... But as i was walking through the woods after it happened i found very well used trails, like used so much they dont even have leaves on them! I found several fresh piles of scat, so im thinking they are starting to get hard up for food and taking chances! About 15 years ago my dad had chickens, and every now and then we would see one come and snatch a bird, but that was close to the woods and farther away from humans.

Ive sat out there a couple times trying to call em in, and even put a freshly killed squirrel out for scent..... He came and ate the squirrel but it was about 3am... I set my game camera up so i could get pics and see if i can pattern him so ill know what time to set up next time. But i will try to kill every damn yote within 5 miles!

I came in here thinking this was something legit, but its just a story about how your mom just stood there while a "member of the family" was carted off into the woods to be eaten. Glad I'm not in that family.
So your mom would run after a wild animal, thats defending a meal that he is in the process of killing? Im glad she didnt, especially since my Daughter would have followed to stay close to her!
Tips for dealing with young kids and "traumatic" experiences?

So, a little background first. I have a 3 1/2 year old girl who absolutely loves animals! We have 4 dogs at our house, two of which she doesn't play with because they are my hunting dogs and stay outside, and they tend to knock her down, but she will go to the fence and pet them and talk to them. The 2 dogs inside are a 5 year old shih tzu, and we just got a great dane and she is 8 wks old. My mother in law has several dogs, and my mom had a rat terrier that was three or four. She got him about a year and a half ago from an elderly couple who couldn't care for him. Instantly my daughter fell in love with this dog, and him with her, he would whine and get super excited when my mom would say my daughter was coming. She would sometimes beg to go to nana's house just to see Ace. Since she was 2 months old she goes to my moms on thursdays because my mom wants to spend time with her. Well this past thursday at about 9am my mom and my daughter were outside letting ace use the bathroom and from across their backyard( it's surrounded on 3 sides by a piece of woods about 20 acres)a coyote runs out and up to the dog and wrestles him to the ground and then picks him up behind the head and runs back into the woods with the dog still hollering and yelping, all while my mom and daughter watch in horror from 30 feet away! My mom tried screaming to see if he would drop him, but no luck. She didnt want to go after him because my girl would have followed. My mom calls me pretty hysterical at this point, as ace was pretty much a member of the family, and says something got ace, and in the background i can hear my daughter freaking out too. so i haul arse there to see about her and she is crying and asking to go home to see her puppies. Well now she wont go anywhere in our house by herself, and on 2 seperate occasions(the only two times she had to come outside after dark) when we were leaving somewhere after dark she really freaks, almost to the point of hyper-ventilating. Shes never been scared of the dark or anything like that before, and when i have to bring our puppy out at night she begs me not to go and when I explain i have to she tells me to not let anything get the puppy. I understand this was very troubling for her to witness, im just wondering how long its going to take before she somewhat gets over it, or what, if anything, i can do to help her! Its pretty hard knowing what she saw , and seeing her be so scared! I know this is ridiculously long, but thanks in advance for tips!

re: pond problems - no bass feeding

I caught 9 in my pond last weekend... my pond isnt that big and the deepest spot is 14 feet. I caught most on top water baits late in the afternoon!
I wasnt implying you were making fun... I was just explaining the things you pointed out! Its all good, it wouldnt ruin my day if a random person of the internet made a lil fun of me! Its fairly easy to get a pond if u have a place with ground that holds water, ole boy dug this one for the dirt, didnt cost me a thing and was done in a couple months.
No, I'll have to check it out... there is definitely alot I dont know, but both my father in law and my great uncle have one, so they give me tips if I need em, but imma check it out! Thanks!
re: caught another nice one in my pond!

I remember when my great uncle told me to go get one... the bass go crazy for a tiny torpedo in his pond! But ever since then if the time is right, I will not leave without throwing one a few times at least!
Thanks man! I enjoy just sitting on the porch and watching the fish cut up in the afternoons! But its definitely nice to walk out ur back door and be able to fish!
This is a picture of my pond(when it froze over this year). You cant really see how wide it is, i have a point on the right side, thats what you see on the edge. On the left side it widens a lil more. its not big, but its a decent size, my water was pretty low, but u get the idea.
This one has a little bit more water...
This one has a little bit more water...

This one does look skinny compared to a few others ive caught! They have unlimited bream in there, probably borderline too many! If u walk around the edge you see tons of bream, all sizes too! So i dont think the bass are overpopulated yet, in fact its pretty hard to catch em cuz they are never hungry for my bait! I see quite a few decent size but nothing to make me worry just yet! I do plan on cooking some of those suckers soon tho!
