Get the colonoscopy. That isn't going to tell if you have any polyps that could become cancerous. My Dr. also said that a colonoscopy is preventative but if you get a false positive on Cologuard then you have to get a colonoscopy and it is no longer considered preventative and you get charged the full price
I didn't see your post when I responded. This is true.
If they have to follow up on the Cologuard positive you no longer have ACA protection on the colonoscopy.

It's marketed to people who want to avoid the humiliation of a colonoscopy and prefer taking the more dignified approach of trying to doo-doo in a small cup then playing with the turd to ensure compliance with the test before putting a box of their own feces in the mail.

There are some issues with the mail in tests compared to the outpatient procedure but I can see the allure of the mail in test.
My wife had one done when she was 50 and they caused she got a scratched cornea during the procedure. When she was in recovery she complained about her right eye hurting but they more or less ignored her and I took her home around 2 PM. We were in the ER around 11 and she was in severe pain...I have seen this woman push an 8 1/2 pound baby out of her cooter with barely a whimper, she is pretty pain tolerant...and she was almost out of hear with the pain in her eye. They of course thought she was insane but after taking care of about 350 kids with runny noses and about that many drunks with various ailments they finally examined her and found she had a badly scratched cornea....they described as looking like someone had run a belt sander across it. We followed up the next day with an eye doctor and about all she could do is wait for it to heal...eye drops helped and in a few days she was right as rain. When she went to the doctor to get the results of the test I was with her and she mentioned it to the doctor who had done the test. I told him they must have either gone in the wrong way or went way to far. He nor my wife found this humorous. As it turned out they had not noticed during the procedure that the tape on her right eyelid had come undone and her right eye was open the whole time, had dried out, and when she blinked or closed her eye lid it scratched her cornea. Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things but they knew her eye had been open, it was in their notes, and did not mention it, I guess hoping everything would be OK.

Man up.

I just don’t really want to shite in a box. Nor do I want a colonoscopy
How about colon cancer?
Go see what that's like then compare it to a colonoscopy and come back to the thread.

And many people don't understand that the next step in many cases is the colonoscopy they tried to avoid in the first place.
Even if the result is negative, it's got a false negative rate of near 10% but they do a good job of confusing patients as to it's true role.

What's the thoughts here from the OT.
it's really big nothing burger, you won't know a thing about the procedure, no discomfort afterwards, the mother of all shits and being on the throne all night before fro the prep is greatly exaggerated

Be a man and get the tube shoved up your butt

Yeah, I am very familiar with the process. I am generally just curious if people would prefer to get one from a friend or someone they don't know.

can't see as if that would make any difference
unless, of course, said friend is a hot chick

Can't you find someone to hold the bucket for you?

Imagine paying money to have a dude stick a machine up your butt

Haven't read the thread, but why would you trust a product that says "Can give false positives AND false negatives"?

Do this. It's not a bad procedure. If you're lucky like me, prep goes well. They roll you into the room and the doctor is listening to Led Zeppelin. They ask you to roll on your side and the next thing you know is you are waking up. They roll you to the car and your significant other can take you to get ice cream.

I had a scope at about 40. Screw that. I hit 50 and did the cologaurd. Maybe at 55 or so i'll get the scope.
