no offense but you can't possibly know it was sudden. You just perceive it as sudden. You would have to know what was happening on a chemical properties level.

Clean the terminals.. even if they "look" clean... I thought I needed a new battery had a friend tell me to clean the terminals eventhough they appeared clean.. worked perfect after that

Check alternator, but certainly possible you just got a bad battery. The first one may have died a little soon (2 years vs 3-4), but I wouldn’t immediately think something is wrong.
