OT MD - foot injury

I dug up a stump with a shovel this weekend wearing light running shoes (yes, dumb. I know), and I think I really injured my foot. It hurts like hell to walk and it's not getting any better. Did I fracture a metatarsal? Will this get better on its own or am I going to have to get a walking boot or some shite?

Well, and call me curious, but I think we might need to know what actually happened to your foot. I don't think wearing light running shoes while digging up a stump is going to illicit some sort of injury.

Well that's kind of my question, would I have to get an x ray to be able to tell, or can I infer it from the fact I have is pain that isn't going away? No swelling or bruising either which is weird.

Sounds like a case of acquired immune deficiency syndrome of the metatarsal. Good luck.

It's gangrene. Your foot had a good run

Prob gonna need at least a boot, X-rays will tell if fractured. You prob just strained some ligaments and/or tendons.

You know how it is, you're breaking the roots with your foot on the shovel blade. Ever since it's been killing me.

Even if it is fractured, not much a doc would likely do besides tell you to take it easy for a few weeks and try to stay off that foot while it heals. They might not even put it in a boot, and you can buy a boot yourself and save a co-pay or insurance deductible

Do you really think any competent medical professional is going to diagnose you based off of the OP? More to the point, do. you really believe a competent medical professional is going to diagnose you on the internet? Go to your Primary Care Physician if you think you need to go and he will refer you appropriately.

Trying to be sneaky with the AIDS diagnosis but I concur.

What? You ever heard of a pick axe, chief?
