Sort of.
Both our paychecks are deposited into our joint account, where the majority of it stays.
But we have an agreed upon amount each month that we transfer to our personal accounts. This is our "no questions asked" money.
If she wants to use her portion to buy a $250 piece of clothing, fantastic. If I want to buy an expensive bottle of bourbon, that's my prerogative. Nobody is allowed to bitch about how that money gets spent.
It works really well for us.

No.

We have separate accounts. Things are too easy with Venmo etc. and if she needs something, she can always just come get my credit card, but she at least has to ask me first.
If I had to see her stupid online purchases coming out of my checking account every day we would have serious arguments all the time.

This is pretty much what we do. It works well for us.

We have separate accounts but she makes sure I always have money in it.
There’s an automatic deposit made to my account at the beginning of the month.
I just watch the balance, but if I need more, she transfers more from the household account.

Never. We have nothing to hide from each other. Both of our paychecks get deposited into one account and we pay bills from it then have fun with it. I see what she spends and she sees what I spend.
Same here.

That's a discussion for another thread.

Yeah, we have separate checking accounts and credit cards, but a shared savings account.
All through the same bank though.
We each already had direct deposits and autodrafts set up and it was too much of a headache to change all that.
Has worked well for us for 5+ years
We aren't poor and neither has a spending problem though.

As long as she stays on budget.

This is important. We have no secrecy in our finances.

The only thing we have separate is credit cards and retirement accounts. The only reason for separate credit cards is when we travel and if something was to happen to one of our cards the other would have a different card.

Probably, but there is no point for us to do it.
