Back in October I rented from Ausby Rental Cars (Economy/ASAP) in Dallas DFW. It was a miserable experience, but this has nothing to do with that. They took a $100 security deposit. They said that they would refund that after all tolls came in.

After 8 weeks, they charged me for tolls but didn't refund my money. It's impossible to speak to accounting. They only accept email, and won't respond. In December, I filed a complaint with the BBB. They did not respond to the complaint. Last week, I filed a dispute with my credit card company for the charge. The car rental sent them "proof" that I agreed to the charge in the form of a contract that I never signed AND THEY BLATANTLY FORGED MY SIGNATURE. As in, it's not even fricking close and looks like it was written by a woman......and I'm a big fat bastard man.

Does their forgery on a rental contract constitute me taking further action outside of getting my $100?

Scruffy would take action. That's some pretty messed up stuff...if true.

Scruffy also isn't a lawyer.

I have complete documentation to prove it. They even claimed that I rented it from their site where it clearly states the policy........but I rented through Travelocity where there was no such thing.

You gonna pay a lawyer ~$200 an hour to collect maybe, maybeeee a few hundred bucks?

You lost $100. You've already spent a lot of time trying to get it back. How much time and money will a lawyer cost? I'd just let it go.

Yelp reviews on this company are awful. Help get the word out. Live and learn.

Maybe so but somebody's arse committed fraud. So if I can't go through civil means someone would be answering for the fraud.

My signature

My forged initials......I would show the actual signature to show how bad it is......but that would give my real name.

And I'm not talking about hiring a lawyer for monetary damages......I'm talking about....are they criminally liable? I'll get my $100 back based on the info I sent back to the CC Company. But, this is the type of practice that should be stopped.

Then go catch a charge because some piddling middle manager screwed you out of less than $100. Your world, dude

Sounds like fraud. Don't know if you can get paid from it though.

Like Scruffy, Sao would take control and break one of their large pane glass windows at their offices. $100.00 most certainly won't cover it and we can blame the idea on Scuffy.

Bring it to the DA. I'm sure they'll get right on it!

Catch a charge? I'm talking about filing a complaint with the state or locals.

1. Stop renting from fly by night rental car companies.

I didn't realize they were. Rented it off Travelocity and didn't think there would be a problem.

Throw a rock through one of their $500 windows and call it even. It will feel great for years to come.

Not a pro on forged signatures but the initialed signature clearly was a pen pressed down hard to look neat. Usually when someone initials and it is quick and the ink is not so bold.
