Probably paying an automated service that runs letters
Because of all the legal wrangling she forgot to notify the service of the situation
Some yards run papers in house.... some subcontract.
If I had a way to contact you I’d love to possibly give other insight

This is absolutely not the case here.
I still haven't heard from the Local PD or the AG. I'm actively stirring the pot a bit.

I spoke to both the shop owner and the wrecker lady today.
These folks feel wronged in the worst possible way. This is beyond lunacy.
To let a little more out of the bag, the bike looks like hell. It looked like hell when I picked it up and all the parts that they are trying to charge for actually look so bad they need to be replaced. The bike is going to have to be repainted because it looks so bad. Some of the faring components they were saying were new were cracked and most of the farings were tie wrapped together.
There's no way in hell 2200 dollars worth of repairs were done to this motorcycle. Sorry... it just didn't happen. The motorcycle is a completely different color though. Makes you wonder...
The shop owner mentioned getting a lawyer to get his money back. I'm starting to think this is less of a criminal enterprise and more just utter ignorance. I didn't think that was possible but I'm pretty sure after today I'm mistaken.
I can say this has happened more than once though. I know that for a fact.

Looks like this going to completely fizzle out. Well it was quite interesting for a good while, so there's that.

Name and shame time. What’s the name of the place? It shouldn’t hurt your case if we know their name.

It is starting to sound like a Sheriff, Mayor, representative, or some other politician owns part of, and profits, from this business.
It is somebody with enough clout to close down investigations, if laws are being as blatantly broken as you say.

Nothing new to report other than I met Eitek1 in person and got to see the bike. Was a surreal experience! I think whoever is looking into it now is being tight-lipped about the situation.

Wait, eitek is saying the bike “looks like hell?” I thought it was basically in good shape and nothing was wrong with it...did I make it up that he said that?

I’m not sure exactly what he said, but at a glance or from a distance the bike looks fine as you can see in the picture he posted of it on the trailer. Once you start looking closely, there’s issues. Cracked fairings, fairings zip tied on, ignition switch missing, electrics fricked. It does run though. Before I saw it eitek1 had already done a few things to get it looking better also.

I did say that and BruceJender is correct. Considering the cost of repairs, I’d expect this bike to look brand new. Mechanically, other than some road rash, it appears to be fine. Cosmetically, it looks “well used”.
I was finally able to strip all the farings off and found some more broken “tabs” on one of the farings. I’m stripping the bike and repainting and repairing it. It will look pretty good when I’m done. The base bike actually cleaned up really nice.
There are also electrical problems. I’ve largely got them sorted but still, on a repaired bike hey shouldn’t be there. Honestly... who uses wire nuts on a motorcycle?
I’m still stirring the pot and when everything is said and done what I’m putting together will be of great entertainment for the folks here. Brucejender got a sneak peek when he came by.
Law enforcement has been quiet on this. I expect a call pretty soon but who knows. If I can’t get them to move, I’ll still close this story out in a good way.

Well, since we're all going to have justice blue-balls from this, can you at least post some sweet wheelie videos?

You'll have to be happy with pics of improvements to the bike as I undo the fabulous "repairs" that were made.

This thread is following the same trajectory of Jamarcuss Russell's NFL Career.

I stopped to check this thread while stripping the fairings off the motorcycle so I can paint them.
Jamarcus Russell didn't deliver. So far, I have and I will.
I pulled the fairings and there are so many missing pieces, broken tabs and melted parts they all need to be replaced.
You might be asking yourself how it's possible that a full set of fairings that were just replaced a year ago need to be replaced again. How is it possible that a new fairing set has what appears to be years worth of wear, dirt and road grime on it. I think that's a pretty good question.
I'm wondering the same thing...
That said, new fairings are being ordered right after I hit submit on this update.

I'm rooting for a comeback. First ten pages were like Jamarcuss's pre-draft workout. We're not at the Syzurp 3 INT a game stage but looking more like Trent Dilfer than Tom Brady.

Law enforcement is working it but it’s not exactly the crime of the century. They effectively have a year to do something. If it were up to me this would be over.
The fairings on the bike when I picked it up we’re pretty trashed. They claim they are in perfect shape and are worth a fortune. In reality, the whole set was 400 dollars new and they are a couple thousand miles from being new. I have to dispose of them somehow so I think I’m going to mail the trashed fairings back and tell them “let’s call it even”.
That would be hilarious.
