I am certain that my yard has AIDS and it will cost Tree Fiddy to get rid of this with fire but...

What is this plant and what is best way to kill them off? A bunch of these have suddenly sprouted up in my side lawn. TIA.

ETA- A horticulturist is a plant expert and not some has that opines on the social interactions of loose women you heathens.

that's called texas bluegrass. try spraying your yard with a solution of hydrogen peroxide & metamucil. that should clear it up.

From the pics, I believe you're using "lawn" pretty loosely.

It's vociferous vulgaris .

It's the horticultural equivalent of HIV.

Napalm strike is called for.

It looks to me like it's the best thing you have going for that "yard".

May be a native one. There are many native species that like wetter areas but also lots of non native ornamental varieties.

And damn you don't have a blade of grass in that "yard". All weeds

Nice call...I wouldn't mind having those in that 10" wide 15 ft long area that's in-between my wood fence and driveway.

It's in the sedge family and it's a cool-season grass. It will die on its own when the temperatures stay more consistently warm soon.
