If you already paid property taxes on it then no. You can’t be double taxed on the same land.

Just claim you had paid more for your share years ago than what you are selling now for, and claim a deduction.

I think you only pay tax on the net amount you gain from the sale.

For example if you bought in at 100k and sell at 120k you pay capital gains on 20k

Only if you profit from the sale.
If you are taxed, you can obviously use some expenses you've incurred to make said profit.

Also, the OP, if he knows what he's talking about, is selling 16% of an LLC that owns land, not 16% of the land. Big difference.

The operating agreement should contain buy-sell restrictions that govern the timing of sale, if permitted in the first place.
