You're right. Most rational people know you're right.
Let the children be envious and bitch for a while if it makes them feel better. Every single one of them would be back in the doctors office tomorrow if the need arises.

How many patients does the doctor need to see to cover their overhead?

Meanwhile, I have noticed doctors growing increasingly lazy over the years, quick to only half-way listen to a patient while simply scribbling a scrip for whatever the newest drug they are being paid to push
Well, it appears you need to find new doctors then. It's not hard, we're still allowed to choose for the most part.

What were the doc's initials?

I am not really getting into this, but I will say. The last time I went to the doctor, I asked him a question and he broke out his phone and googled it.. Seriously.
Would you rather he give you a bullshite answer to reassure you? You're taught if you don't know the answer to find the answer. No one knows everything.
I would've played it off a little better than whipping out the iphone right in front of the patient though.

I love my Personal Care Physician.Been seeing him 13 years. He inherited me when another Dr. left. He's more laid back than I am,and that's saying something.I don't see him but 2-3 times a year.
He's 2 years older than I am.I'm 54.So he's my Doctor til one of us dies.
I get over there early so I'm his 1st patient. He'll sit in there talking for 25-30 minutes. It's pretty funny. He's got a slow drawl. He may sit in there and shoot the shite but he takes 5 walk-ins every morning and sees every patient scheduled.
He's not lazy.I think he's stoned.
He writes the stuff that keeps this machine running. He referred me to a Pain Management Doctor.

No wonder they're pissed NPs are about to wreck shop on their boutique profession. I'll be damned if a nurse can't practice general medicine better than a general practice physician.
I just bumped a relevant thread

Most patients don't know who is a good doc and who isn't. Nice doesn't equal good.

This is the only thing that I think the doc did wrong. I would have walked out of the room for a second.

My wife an I have always liked our Family doc, been seeing him for 12+ years, last year he was going to go concierge, but later sent out letters saying he changed his mind he loves his patients too much(prolly means not enough would sign up). Now his new thing is he will only write Rx 6 months at a time, so those of us that go 1 time a year for panels, now have to go twice a year, no biggie, my insurance probably wont cover the extra visit, but it sounds like a money grab to me.

He doesn't like NP's or docs. I guess he should go into the medical field and save us all.

Obama care is destroying medicine. Doctors work on production and don't have enough time to spend with their patients. It's a disaster and getting worse daily.
This. Medicaid/Medicare and the insurance companies are not reimbursing as much either so they have to see more patients now to make up for it. And before anyone starts saying how their doctors don't see poor people...you forget that most senior citizens have Medicare.
Also, some blame needs to be placed on the people that make an appt for one health issue.....than bring up 10 other health issues they also want addressed in that visit.

I think it indicates a lack of intelligence to be able to convince yourself that "doctors" are a single homogenous group that could be labeled as lazy.

My wife sees 40-50 patients in clinic 2 days a week, is in surgery for 8-10 hours 2 days a week and has one devoted to all the other random bs that comes with her job. Lazy is the last thing I would call her.

What are the OTs experiences?
I love my dr. She takes as much time as I need. Will see her for my yearly check up tomorrow and she will be in there for about 1/2 hour going over my labs, my exercise routine, my diet and answering any questions I have. Can almost always get in same day either with her or someone else in the practice if I need to.
I have never been asked the firearm question.

this dude had me bending over a table and was looking in to my a-hole while holding some kind of handheld computer up next to my arse for comparison.
He was taking pictures to show his doctor buddies at the next day's golf outing.

whatever the newest drug they are being paid to push.
The fact that you actually think this happens tells me you have absolutely no clue how healthcare works
You have no clue how your government has destroyed healthcare
You more than likely harbor all of these negative feelings before your doctor even walks in the room, and you confirm your confirmation bias.
Just to name a few of your misguided thoughts. But keep blaming the doctors. I mean obviously the government can't screw anything up when they get involved.

Wonder if that guy realizes that you guys don't even get free pens anymore from drug reps.
I guess those Dunkin Donuts they brought for you and your entire staff is the payment he is referring to???

I like my doctor because he has small fingers.
