Gah damn, was that golf company PING, Mr. Solheim?

Nope. This company couldn't sell in Mississippi because the face of the franchise at the time was black.
Id go to demo days out there and not a soul would try em out and they would make sure to tell me why in ban-able terminology.
ETA: Was merely stating that for beginners, Ping does a good job fitting without having to go try to line up and buy from Watts or GG

Bump for some more advice ( for a novice):
Is a hybrid iron (5 & 6) too much for a beginner? I mean do I need more experience before I buy them or should I let the salesguy talk me into them? I don't want to piss money away on clubs that are too advanced for my level.

How old are you?
You pretty athletic? You should be able to hit a 4 iron no problem.

Of course I'm old enough and atletic enough. I just don't know shite about golf clubs and I don't want to spend money on something that I don't need. I mean I doubt I need some high dollar Calloway driver at this point. So I'm wondering if the same applies to the clubs in question.

The hybrids you're talking about are for old guys and women who can't hit a real 4 or 5 iron.
Have you played much? I think a new driver would be a good purchase, if you have really old clubs.
Not brand new, but lightly used.
ETA: I would rather see ya get a real 4/5 iron and then see if ya need/would rather those hybrid irons.

Thanks man! That's the kind of feedback I was hoping for. No I haven't played much ever at all. I'm 47, in decent shape but I know my stance, swing, etc is pathetic. I'm a true beginner hack. But I want to get some decent clubs without getting equipment that isn't suited to my level. I've never even heard of a hybrid club or a 7 wood. So I don't know shite.

You're gonna have good swing mechanics if you get a lesson and some help.
I still swing too hard and just hack away like an a-hole.

Whatever your budget is, spend 25% of it on clubs and 75% of it on lessons.

Yeah lessons are gonna happen without a doubt. I'm not trying to be a pro. Just dont want to be an embarrassment.

Miura and all of that bullshite is so over rated
if you hit it in the center they all feel the same, get some swing mechanics down, hit different clubs and find something that feels good and you like the look of at address, hit a local pro or golftec and get some mechanics and find out how to get it in the hole, practice a lot and get good from 100 and in, the end.
And play it down, most important part

I've been PID since I got out of high school but I swear to god it's rained the night before my last 4 or 5 rounds. I hate playing in the mud so I don't mind playing lift and clean
I wouldn't trust Japanese clubs. the frick do they know about golf
