First off Mike Andersons seafood platter is enough food to feed four
I also love threads like this where the OT super husbands claim they’ve all bought their wives diamond tennis bracelets after posting constantly how much their wives aggravate them

I go once a week for lunch. The “Cajun Plate” on the lunch menu, which is what the poster was describing, is enough to feed at least 2 people and it’s on the lunch menu for $14
I imagine the dinner portions are twice the size

I went there for the first time since I was in college a couple weekends ago
Me and my wife split the fried seafood platter and man it was a shite ton of food
The air fryer got some work the couple days after
ETA: it was like $30 bucks I think

Do you not even NYC? I knew about this gimmick back in 2005

The Algonquin Hotel’s $10,000 "Martini on the Rock" is a legendary, ultra-luxury cocktail. Served at the historic Blue Bar in Midtown Manhattan, this famous beverage includes a loose diamond at the bottom of the glass and requires 72 hours' advance notice and a custom consultation with a jeweler.

quote:What? Ma'am 4 oysters and 3 shrimp and 3 small catfish fillets are not much, Sally. Not for $25. Good lord, places in N.O. give at least 6-7 shrimp and oysters each or more. Its a joke. And before you say something about me being fat, I run long distance constantly, 10-13 miles. I'm not fat, but I also dont have the appetite of an 85 year old who appreciates small portions and bland flavor. That place is a joke, typical of BR.
Goddamn how much fried food do you want in one sitting

It was rhetorical question, I already knew

It’s not popcorn shrimp, they’re 12 count butterflied shrimp. And the poster is exaggerating, they give you more than that on the lunch portion

My experience was way different than yours.
Like I said it was the first time I’d been there in a decade plus and I was shocked
Glad you could get a shot at BR in and defend Nola though fatass

I took the wife for dinner once. It reminded me of late 90's Gold Club on the inside. Very dark, all black furnishings & decor. Surprisingly loud in there too. Food was good, but not worth it to us. I cant imagine people going there regularly, but to each his own.
Funny, local radio paints it differently. I trust the opinion of the man spending his money.

Not sure how they are getting The Advocate to cover this
Its the advocate. That might even be an advertisement dressed up like a story. The advocate was still being delivered to my mom's house until about a month ago.. Well I know around the time it was cancelled. I grabbed the sports section off the table and it was the morning after Will Wade was hired (this year.. not when he was first hired). The was an article in the sports section that was titled something like "Why LSU will likely not hire Will Wade again".
That had to be the laziest article I ever read.

Why are they making diamond bracelets for tennis?
Even better question, why have them in drinks?

Take your exaggerations somewhere else. First, the food at Mike Anderson's is not bland in the least. It's quite good, and far better than any seafood platter that I've had anywhere else in Louisiana, even your beloved New Orleans.
Second, a fried seafood platter at MA's consists of a salad, maybe 4 large fried shrimp, one stuffed shrimp, fried oysters, one stuffed crab, 2 pieces of catfish, fried crawfish tails, a stack of onion rings, a twice baked potato, and a slice of garlic bread. I'm not sure, but there may be some fried crab claws in there too.
We get at least 3 separate meals out of one platter.

I got the shrimp, oysters and catfish platter and it was exactly as I described.

My Butler's jeweler said the cut and clarity of the diamonds was trailer park grade. Butler had it looked at after my underbutler's assistant took his mistress for a private brunch.

Never been to Supper Club and don't plan on going.

I guess Landry will be all in on Amigo Al's and will franchise the place with the decline of Walk Ons
That's a Landry joint? Easily the worst restaurant margarita I've ever had, and I've had some bad ones. Also took 25min to get drinks, not joking
Tacos were good, but $17 for 2 tacos is insane when I can go to Don Beto's, El Tio, or Barracuda and get better ones for a fraction of the cost
