That's not true. OT helped me get a vehicle back from being stolen. Fun times

We regrettably went to bed Fri night without closing our garage door. The person took my keys out of my truck, which had both key sets on it, and used those keys to steal my wife's vehicle. Her keys were inside the house the whole time.

I guess they didn't want your truck.

So who left the garage door open? Just curious if it's the same person who left the keys in the truck.

Mine turned up at the bottom of the Tickfaw river, if that makes you feel any better.

Your car wasn't stolen, you gave it away.

Sheriff's Office came out dusted for finger prints on my truck. Took my dna swab as a reference. Haven't heard anything back from them yet

And you're not going to, because they're not going to investigate. You just gave up your fingerprints and dna for no reason.

Had to cancel. It was for the BR Am qualifier too.

I had no extra set of keys to my truck as they were stolen too. Had to call a locksmith to come program a new one so we would have some form of transportation

A good buddy (and a fellow poster) had a car stolen and recovered. It's a funny story now that everything is said and done. I'll let him explain it if he sees this thread.

happened to a friend of mine in that neighborhood, ended up being found in gardere abandoned and vandalized.

They say it happens pretty frequently. "youths" find cars they have easy access to, joy ride, commit a few crimes, abandon ship.

Even if you're living in the safest neighborhood there is, that is dumb as hell

Don't worry. They are coming back to get your truck too. Did you leave the garage door opener in your wife's car?

It is an unwritten rule in our house that the last person up is responsible for shutting garage and locking all doors. That person that night was not me. But it's now worth playing the blame game.

Yea, after the fact, the whole incident was pretty comical. Wasn't too happy while it was going on though because I had sold it to my brother and owner financed, and unbeknownst to me he only had liability on it. He still would have paid me the balance, but it would have sucked for him financially at the time.

Good question. OP, you should probably change the door locks for your house if you haven't already.
