Squirrels gnaw on bones just like other rodents do. I've seen squirrels chew bones and even deer racks. If it's small enough to cart around they will do that too.

I was looking for a fellow OTer to go fishing with while I’m in orange beach and I specifically said “no gay”. Then all the gays got upset. I don’t like fishing by myself. Grew up on a river where plenty of people died. I got PTSD.

Don’t know what kind of animal the jawbone is from, but I can tell you how it may have gotten there.

A squirrel.

I was in my backyard underneath our huge live oak one day and all of a sudden something white falls on the ground a couple feet away from me. I picked it up and it was like a chicken bone. I looked up in the tree and there was a damn squirrel directly above me way up in the tree. I was like, WTF? Looked it up on Google and sure enough squirrels will chew on bones for calcium.
