I agree but does every gym do that?

I find this to be the dumbest exercise ever. There's no strength gains to be had there. Oh you can also throw in those stupid arse ropes
Ever hear of cardio?

I'm going do a deadlift and run (or row) workout in a bit..
5 RFT
400M Run
15 Deadlifts 185/135
It's hot as frick outside and I may do a 500M row instead of the 400M run.
Probably some barbell shite before it.

Keep on it! It's truly the best workout there is. Enjoy starting with low weights and only increase in small amounts. The competition at the box can be a great asset but it can also encourage stupidity.

Meh. Running for cardio is just to bland for most people.
..and most runners are skinny fat.

2x Back Squat (135/75lbs) - add 10lbs per minute up to 225/135lbs - after that add 5 lbs each additional minute until failure
This would be terrible to do. An EMOM that would potentially last up 30-35 minutes
Or you could just start with higher weight than 225/135 if you are stronger? These things aren't etched in stone. Its like peoples turn off their logic whilst discussing crossfit.

i would think there aren't many gyms that are making clients do that type of EMOM with close to their 1RM, especially novice clients.
its funny that people think that every crossfit coach is shitty. I was eating breakfast at The Fly today and was observing this circuit training boot bamp of about 12 people, and not one of them knew how to squat correctly(they were doing light DB squats). Also in the circuit were light KB swings, that looked to be 10 or 20lbs. Even at the light weight they were doing them wrong.
People rag on Crossfit coaching certs, but in reality they come out the cert eager and willing to learn and prograss, and end up having more credibility and responsibility than a lot of people that claim to be personal trainers.

This. I really wonder reading some of these threads if the majority of the people that post in them really know people that do crossfit and talk about it constantly, do the things that the silly gifs are about, or the majority of the other things people flock into these threads to post.

As someone who does Crossfit, I'm begging you to not make these dumbass threads. You're just being a shitty stereotype. No one gives a shite about your workout regiment.
TTHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i swear you people make all crossfiters look like a bunch of d-bags. Just work out and keep your mouths shut.
Accept the fact that the majority of you are unathletic meathead wannabe's and just get on with your life.
PS butterfly pullups are not only the most useless kind of excercise, it's also bad for you, physically, and largely defeats the purpose of an actual pullup.....but as long as you can rep 25 of those bad boys, you must feel super duper strong

If someone said they were going to do a crossfit workout:
Every three minutes on the third minute
5 reps squats of 81% 1RM. For 15 mins ( compete the 5 set at minute 15)
The resident lifters loses their fricking mind And says frick that; that's a great way to get hurt.
"The only true lifting routine is 5x5 81% with 2-3 minutes rest."

I'd pay $ to see a video of LE's squat form

I just took this from the rules for Olympic lifts.
The time limit for an athlete to begin an attempt after being called to the platform is one minute. At 30 seconds remaining there is a warning signal. The exception to this rule is when a competitor takes two attempts one after the other, in which case the athlete may rest up to 2 minutes. In such case, the athlete also gets a warning after 90 seconds have elapsed without a lift.
you do realize in competition, they lift the weight ONCE, right?
FAIL. back to tRant with you.

My squat form is good once I mobilize

actually similar to my workout structure on mondays, well part of monday anyway.
BTW, I highly doubt even half of an average crossfit class is doing a power clean correctly, let alone for reps, let alone in a timed environment. I know this is the OT though, and your 3 months after starting at the box have been amazing allowing you the best strength gains in history.

Dude, we get it. You're too good for crossfit and think it's bad. That's, like, your opinion, man.
Can't you just be glad that they aren't like half of the population just sitting on their fat asses having their groceries from wal mart delivered to their car because God forbid they push a cart up and down an aisle?
Frankly, I don't care if your form of exercise is doing cartwheels in your backyard for an hour a day. If you're moving, eating right, and making an effort to get healthy, more power to you.

Nothing is ever good enough for guys that think they know everything. Their way is always better. It's funny to be so insecure when it is indeed clear that you know what you're talking about.

Which is ironic because that's one of the negative (and false) crossfit stereotypes: we all think crossfit is the best and only way to exercise.
