This is highly unlikely. You just need to know the philosophy behind finishing drywall to understand this. There are many raised spots on a wall. The art of finishing drywall is to use mud to feather these raised spots out so the walls APPEAR smooth and flat. It's an illusion.

I would recommend keeping that contractors information and consider using him for future work, because he is likely an honest person who strives for customer satisfaction. On top if it being a total waste of your money, he probably knew he would probably not be able to do that job to your satisfaction, so he declined the work.

You sound like Dad LOL. But, you have to admit something is amiss when the raised area runs from where there is an electrical switch opposite the wall in a line. It is very irregular.

The contractor was very nice and is honest. I wanted him to do it because I'm sure he wouldn't cover up his findings.

Because he knows that you are complaining about something that is not an issue (in his eyes). He understands that he’ll never please you and therefore the job is not worth the headache.

I don't think someone is coming into my house and installing stuff in the wall. I suspect it is some type of directed energy issue. I definitely have those issues.

I know you are making fun of chemtrails but chemtrails don't effect the inside of buildings, at least in this manner.

Well, father knows best.

I don't have to admit anything. Especially if your dad and a seemingly honest and competent contractor both think there's nothing to worry about.

Are you OCD, or do you suffer from some kind of phobia? If so, I'd recommend that you invest the money you want to spend on fixing the wall on a few sessions with a licensed therapist.

I’ll never understand this argument. The contractor just needs to price the quote for said work accordingly so it is worth his time and he will in fact make a profit.

Chances are it's not even worth his time writing the bid.

I have walked away from bids before because it was clear they were a waste and/or the job would be a nightmare due to the person wanting the bid.

Not sure why that's hard to understand.

the real answer is - because he thinks you are an anal nit picker over something so minor that he cant possibly do the job without you finding the slightest imperfections in the finish demanding it be redone until he loses money on the job.

now if you want the easy fix, turn off the breaker, then remove switch cover opposite the bulge and fiddle with how the wires are bent so you can get the switch back in place so they no longer push against the way behind it. replace switch cover and turn breaker back on test the light works and then go watch TV.

if you just shove wires into the box without helping them bend then just push the wire out the back on the box and press on the wall behind it. sometimes if you like taking risks you can just bang on the wall to push the wires back out of the way but you might also crack the sheet rock doing it

Wow, really? I don't need a therapist. You don't see what I see. Every day, someone walks by my house with a cell phone, waving it around. There is NO legitimate reason for that. Zero.

I'm not a nitpicker at all, far from it. If there wasn't something sketchy going on, I wouldn't care about it since you cannot see it.

I've had repair workers at my house and I've never complained about the work. Ever. I treat them very nicely.

Have you ever asked that person why are they waving a cell phone around outside your house?

Except that is is about a 1/2 inch linear deal running horizontally for about three feet, like something was pushing that line from the inside.
