honestly this was the first thing that came to my mind when reading the OP.

And here I am, having spent the better part of my life assuming scientists are smart.

How do you keep the sulfate in front of a moving sun as the earth spins?

My God these norons are called scientists and are believed by some!

All they really have to do modify Jet fuel formulas to include lots of sulfates and let it bleed out as airline planes do their thing cross country and across the Atlantic and Pacific.

I guess that is what they are doing right now. I hear we will have the coldest winter on record and a 40 year mini Ice Age, just not enough of an ice age to counteract Global Warming.

Is this the part where we scorch the sky to stop the machines?

What could possibly go wrong with injecting tons and tons of chemicals directly into the atmosphere?

I'm not really for large scale geoengineering on Earth right now, there's just not much data and a lot of unknowns. The larger issue that is completely ignored it seems like is overpopulation. CO2 emissions are absolutely going to occur for the foreseeable future, but I have little doubt that much of the emission producers will eventually have an extremely efficient method of dealing with excess CO2.

The more pressing issue that is largely ignored by the media is the fact that India and China are straining the frick out of the planet's natural buffer due to the out of control population(India) and little regard to emissions recovery. They will come around eventually with tech but when the planet starts becoming massively overpopulated it will make all other issues moot. I just hope that our engineers and scientists are able to optimize the hell out of many of the industrial problem areas before the population becomes so large that doing so will be nearly impossible without loss of life.
