OT Car Gurus: Fuel Issue w/Escape

So the wife, sadly no pics, drives a 2010 Ford Escape and randomly her fuel light came on and miles to go went to zero, but the car was full. So I ordered a sender unit and I just installed it and nothing. Issue remained. Before I throw a new fuel pump in it thought I'd try my luck if anyone has ran into this issue. Resetting battery did nothing either.
Runs fine other than zero in the electronic fuel gauge at all times. She said it sputtered when it idled when it first started happening but every time I drive it nothing like that happens.

Check the flux capacitor.

Changed that out last week, only fixed the time machine portion.

Those models have issues with the fuel systems. Though I have not seen that particular issue before

Did you see if it was throwing any codes

What does the gauge show?

Didn't run any codes cause no check engine light is on so I didn't think it would register.
Fuel gauge is reading 0 mikes left until empty. But I just filled it up.
Fuel gauge is sitting on E.

Did you check every fuse, including under the hood? If car is running it's not the fuel pump.

I swapped all the fuses out, yes. Didn't change.

Not familiar with the exact wiring, but would not hurt to check the ground.

If it's running fine I would suspect a problem with the gauge cluster.
Read the comments in this youtube video. In the video the escape has all kinds of problems with the cluster besides the 0 miles to empty.

I've had this exact thing happen on a 2012 explorer. Ford had to drop the fuel tank and replace the gauge inside of it.

This is starting to look like an issue I don't want to pay for or deal with haha.
That YouTube comment section I think is in general what is going on.

Most towns of any decent size has a place that repairs gauge clusters or you can buy a used one from ebay for about a $100 +/-. The used ones on ebay will not match up with your correct mileage. The cluster is not to difficult to remove.

There should be a fuel reset switch try that.
