I am about halfway through COOLIDGE by Amity Shlaes.
I have read dozens of Presidential biographies but the era after TR up to DDE has been an era I have not studied much. I am up to the point where he just got re-elected in 24. I am extremely impressed with Coolidge and barring some drastic second term changes in his policy, he will likely enter my top 5 of favorite Presidents of all time. We could use a Coolidge type right now.
My last book was SCOTLAND- The Story of a Nation by Magnus Magnusson. It is a great history book if you enjoy that kind of book.
Prior to that, I read 1775-A Good Year for Revolution by Kevin Phillips. It is, by far, the most comprehensive cause/effect book of the American Revolution that I have read. My only criticism is that Phillips bounces around a lot chronologically from topic to topic as he explains things topically rather than chronologically. No big deal but it just makes it a more laborious read. However, I am not sure how he could have presented the cause/effect in any other way.

I read Gwynne's book Rebel Yell and have been wanting to read his Empire of the Summer Moon as Rockford recommends.
Rebel Yell is good read about Stonewall Jackson. He was an extraordinary man.

Empire of the Summer Moon was great. If you liked Rebel Yell, you'll really enjoy Empire of the Sunmer Moon.

Unfortunately. The reviews were good when I read it but the main character was impossible to root for and I honestly just kept thinking of Gone Girl and how it was better the whole time. It also went on way too long. Incredibly slow-moving story that could have ended in probably half the time.

Just finished dead wake, it was quite interesting to see how everything fell into place. I'm looking for another book now

yeah, i gave up half way through. just boring.
I just finished robocalpalypse which was horrible but only like 200 pages.
I started Neil Stephenson Seveneves and so far I really like it.

I might check out rebel yell.. I have read pretty much everything web griffin, Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler have published.
