A loaded crown is the same price as a Lexus ES, which actually is based off of the excellent (but discontinued) Toyota Avalon.
It's a great car. But Lexus has a better one IMO for almost the same price.

Hoss, I wonder if you're a might confused? That is a body on frame F250 in the pic in your post, it sits HIGH. Unibody SUVs pretty well all sit lower, many if not most of them will be easier to get out of than a car.
Was at a dealer for a friend getting their VW fixed and they were raving about the VW Atlas but the one in the showroom was was a good 6 inches to a foot from where my shoes ended and the showroom floor started. I am about 6'2' when seated with all my cousins at the dinner table, yet 5' 8" when standing. So basically big feller overall but stumpy legs (made me a real good lineman, with lots of body mass but short). The issue is not getting in and out, but getting my feet firmly on asphalt before I try to stand.
Hence the issue of sedan VS suv.

I do think the Taycan is better-looking than the Tesla, but that's a subjective opinion.
You and 99 percent of the world. Comparing a taycan and a model y just because they are both electric is a little absurd. Ones not even a luxury car while the taycan is for ot ballers. Not comparable imo

The Atlas is not a good comparison at all. It is intended to sell against larger SUVs, many of which are body-on-frame and sit higher, so it was given a similar stance despite being unibody.
To give you an idea, the Model Y is almost seven inches shorter in height than the Atlas, but with nearly identical headroom inside. That means its H point will be at least 7 inches lower, if not another inch or two more. So, your feet should touch or at least be a lot closer to touching. This is why I'm telling you to go out and test drive or test sit as many vehicles as possible.

My question for AWD is if it adds road noise on the highway. Tire selection plays a part but Buick did something for ages in the body that kept it quiet.
Mine is AWD and quiet on the highway (2011 Infiniti M37x). Though it does add weight to the car and I would assume lowers your MPG. I lived in Chicago when I bought it and wanted it for the snow. Not sure why you'd need it in the south and my next will likely be RWD.

Rain, slick streets, better handling, smoother driving experience...
AWD is all I'll ever own anymore...
When you need it, you need it.

The way I feel about a V8. Now I am V6 but a good one. Next one will be a V4 and not real happy. Other thing about that US heavy metal was Heat / AC. Have to accept I will be trading down with new vehicle.

My daughter (no pics) has a Crown and loves it. The platinum version has every option that you'd want plus 340 hp. It has an incredibly smooth and quiet ride. We've all been extremely impressed with the car.
You mentioned the BMW - that's not really a competitor for a Crown. A BMW drives like a high performance car but can be rougher. The Crown is ultra smooth and quiet, but isn't going to handle the same. A high end Crown is not far removed from a Lexus ES350.
FYI - Just to make it more confusing, Toyota is releasing a Toyota Crown SUV called the Crown Signia.
Let me know if you have specific questions. Happy to answer them.

Tell me about it!
I was excited about thinking it was the Japan Crown which would be more like an old Caddy or Lincoln. This thread has helped me greatly not make mistakes.

SUV's and Trucks are not the same in terms of getting out of the seat (important when you get old and need both feet on the ground before you stand up)
I don't get this at all. I'd much rather be in a mid size SUV then a sedan and I drove a sedan for many years when I was just out of college. No issues with Sedans. But SUV's ride much better now than years ago, generally are safer, and the mileage really isn't that much worse if you are looking at hybrids and the luxury market.
Bending down into a sedan and sitting up, just like getting off and on a toilet I suppose for the elderly is generally much harder when something is closer to the ground then a seat that is higher up.

I agree with this and the ES is likely to fit the OP's butt better and have a ride he would like more. He mentioned it was likely the last car he will buy if so the ES is still available with the NA V6 and is an easy 400K mile powertrain if you even occasionally chain the fluids.

@Cheese Grits,
Remember how I said earlier there is no privacy from any automaker?
Check today's headlines - Texas is suing General Motors over collection and resale of drivers' private data. LINK
Every automaker is in this game to some extent. Only Bill Ford and Elon Musk have offered any resistance to selling data.

I mentioned the Signia to you on page one.

And as I warned you, Toyota is collecting your data too. At least this video tells you how to turn off some of it. LINK
