Odds of finding a parking place in the Quarter: maybe half a percent positive
Odds of finding a parking place in the Quarter anywhere near the restaurant where you have reservations: nil.

If we were there, we'd get lunch reservations at Commanders Palace in the Garden District where parking is not as tight. And their lunch menu has been excellent.

Agreed, but nowhere close to $500 lunch at Emerils and if I am walking out of a restaurant and the only thing I didn't enjoy was the check...I am okay with that.

Should look Uptown. Patois, Clancy's and Lilette all have excellent lunches and the value is really good at all three places.

Quick 'n' Easy for a sub to go, then hit a drive through Daiquiri place and on the road for Natchez

ETA: po-boy, not sub

Nah. Old Fashion or Sazerac at Clancy's with a nice bottle of wine with lunch sounds a bit more appealing.

You might consider the new(ish) location of Middendorfs in Slidell
Pass

It has all the charm of hospital parking garage.

Close to the Lake but you can't see it from there.

Lotsa Interstate noise, if that's your thing.

honestly id go to katies, parkway tavern or cafe degas and skip the 1/4.

But im more biased toward mid-city. And I find it easy to leave the city from there as well.

Why are you even going into the city if you're flying into MSY and your buddy is coming in from Texas and yall are going to Natchez?

Natchez is the other way....stop somewhere between the airport and Baton Rough or even in St Francisville.
