That's a shame that you had to do some trenching along your property line and then needed to get those branches off your property because they were "preventing the enjoyment" of it.

In Louisiana, your property line extends upward also. So any branches that cross that line can be cut, but only up to the property line. You cannot cross the line. You do not have to notify them. I know because several years ago I had to deal with this situation for my mom. Also, if one of the branches falls on the house, as long as the branch is still attached to the tree, the neighbor is financially responsible for the damage or their insurance company. That happened to my mom. The house next door had a branch break during a storm after they put the house up for sale. It was still attached to the tree. So the neighbor's insurance had to pay for the damage and removal of the branch.

If during a storm then it's considered "an act of God" and not covered.
My friend had a brick wall collapse onto two of his cars during Ida and the insurance wouldn't pay out.

What's my best course of action here to get him to handle these trees? I'm not going knock on the door of the LLC's address (residence in bad area).
How’s your aim? They call an AR an “Orleans Pruner” in the East.
