I live in Lafayette, NO ONE thought it would happen here. Care to guess where the shooter came from... Alabama.

Life isn't a video game, and non-trained individuals will have massive problems trying to hit the backside of a barn in high stress situations.

I also live in Lafayette ans was just thinking that myself. Lafayette and the surrounding area is a pretty strapped area, in terms of people who own guns, the number of guns and people with CCL.

It's almost been a year since it happened. It can happen anywhere. You're silly and ignorant if you think it couldn't happen where you live.

It has been reported he was trying to do this at Disney World. Would everyone feel different if the 49 dead were kids instead of gay people?

I'm sure people would be a tad angrier because it's children. But it still wouldn't change anything to keep this from happening again.

More guns isn't going to solve this problem. As stated above they hit targets where guns will not be. They count on fear to incapacitate is. A group of the hostages rushing the terrorist and taking him down could end it with much less casualties. Easier said than done though.

If I walked into a bar and noticed several people carrying, I wouldn't feel safe. I'm suppose to trust that a large group of strangers drinking alcohol are going to be responsible with loaded weapons?

No, because CCP holders have much stricter BAC limits. But picture this, If I wanted to sit at a bar with a group of friends and be the designated driver/carry, legally I'm not allowed to.

I live in Lafayette, LA a very conservative city with lots of people who carry guns 24-7.

You had to have heard of the movie theater shooting that happened here last year.

No one here thought it would happen in Lafayette but it did.

I honestly believe that a majority of people where I live carry at all times. Obviously, we have no gay bars (not that there's anything wrong with that) but I think if there is ever an active shooter situation in my town, the perpetrator will be fired upon quickly. How about where you live?
Do you have a nightclub that opens til 2am and serves alcohol?

If so, it can happen in your town.

It can happen anywhere.

I honestly believe that you don't have a fricking clue. Lots of people tell you what would happen if they were in a situation like a mass shooting or hostage situation. I usually find that these people have never been in any situation like this and don't really know how they would react.

A common liberal argument yet we never get type of shootings unless they are gang related

I still would not carry even with those provisions. And I'm a supporter of the 2nd Amendment btw. I've just seen that alcohol and firearms just do not mix.
