Oregon Trail Micro-Generation

This is a spin off of the guy who asked where “Germans” came from. Has anyone heard this term for the group of Millenials born from 1980-1984?
While we are technically millenials, we were in college by the time social media came about. So we grew up playing in the woods and riding bikes, but also are relevant in the internet age. We lived through the “Germans” and “pwned” but also know how to use the joke.
Basically, the Oregon Trail micro-generation is the best.

Anybody born before 1987 is not in the millennial generation. I don’t let dumbfricks try to label me.

I prefer Oregon Trail to Xennials, for sure.

Go ahead and add 85 on to that and I'm with ya
Floppy discs ran everything
Parents let us run free, just be inside before the street lights came on or there was hell to pay
Dr. Quinn and Walker on Saturday nights w/ mom & pops
Building forts everywhere and out of anything
LA Gear sandals were the shite
SNES and Sega Genesis were the top Christmas gifts

“From the animals you shot, you got 50,464 pounds of meat. However, you were only able to carry 100 pounds back to the wagon.”

The bottom line is that if you were in high school and had your own cell phone or that was a common thing, you’re a millennial.

I've heard this. An article posted the other day said it was 78-82. I was born in 79 and somehow managed to be totally oblivious to Oregon Trail at the time. First heard of it a few years ago.

Check. But it was 10c a minute except for nights and weekends. Pagers were much more economical. I could page paragraphs using numbers.

My parents gave me a calling card 1st semester of college. Finally got a cell phone second semester.

I stayed with my high school girlfriend my first year of college (I know). The phone bills were crazy. Young punks don't know what it was like walking to school barefoot in the snow uphill both ways.
