Right, but you can't wear a mask to disguise your identity. It's pretty clear he was doing that. Now, you can debate if they were actually breaking any laws while he did it.

There are some well-meaning people who open carry.
But there's that segment who make OC people look bad. They're basically just losers who want attention and want to feel empowered by walking around and annoying police.

It's all kind of inconsequential. The guys a friggin moron regardless. But the idea that I'm going for is that you could argue that he wasn't trying to conceal his identity, he was just trying to keep his face warm. It's as reasonable as his trying to justify open carrying an assault rifle into a police station looking like al qaeda. As a side point, there has to be some sort of law that he was breaking by ostensibly intentionally causing that kind of commotion given that any reasonable person would see it that way.

Not quite. The law clearly said "for the purpose of facilitating the commission of a crime." If you're simply disguising yourself with absolutely no intent to commit a crime then you're perfectly legal.

The way a lot of these asshats do it, it is. If I'm carrying, it's a handgun in a holster. Only dick-measuring douchebags try carrying rifles around.
The whole idea behind open carry is to be able to have a firearm on your person for protection in the rare, extreme case its needed. Having a large weapon like most of the open carry idiots on film use is nothing but attempting to wave their dicks around. It's no different than a drag queen in assless chaps and 16-inch dongs draped around them like a hula skirt getting in someone's face and screaming "I fricking dare you to not accept me"
These fricktards do far more to bias people against open carry (and possibly even firearms in general) than they do to help it.
