This happened to an opossum while we were away. It got it's tail stuck, died, and we came home to it rotting. It left a nasty stain on the fence.

That legit happened to our cat and the cat castrated himself on the fence. Looking at it was enough to make me want to throw up. Got him to the vet and they cleaned it all up.
