One watch to rule them all

Watch guys, If you could only have one, what would you choose that checks as many boxes as possible?
Noticeable to the average person without looking like something a rapper or drug dealer would wear. At the same time a knowledgeable watch person would say, "that's a really nice piece."
Has one or more useful complications:GMT, Cronograph, Calendar, etc., OR is such a nice specimen it doesn't need any complications.
Reasonably rugged. Can wear it every day without fear of damaging it. Reasonably water resistant. Doesn't have to be a diver but should be able to take it swimming without a problem.
Versatile. Can wear it with cargoes and crocs or a suit.
Not absurdly expensive. Say 12-15k or under at a dealer or on the gray market.
Any other criteria you think are relevant. Thoughts?

That watch is bigger than your tiny little arm

I would choose a Rolex Datejust 16014 like this one.

12-15k is absurdly expensive…….
While I own some high end pieces, your price point needs to drop. Say, $2-3k or lower.
On that, I am a Marathon fan. I own a JSAR auto and dig it but I have big wrists.
On absurd watches, I’d say Rolex Deep Sea, Omega Seamaster Plant Ocean (I own this one), etc.
I have a Sub but the hysteria on that model is goofy.

If you do settle on a Rolex (you'll be limited w/ that Budget), have an iota of originality and do NOT get a sub.

One I can beat the shite out of and not really worry about. They all tell time. I have a couple decent watches, but mostly I wear a cheaper one just because I know it is going to get beat.

Grand Seiko, the only high end watch I would buy for myself. I don't understand why more watches don't have a movement this smooth.
