Consider a husband and wife could get a million each. Will update OP.

But you’d have to pay the money back so you aren’t exactly getting a free vacation.

That's where I'd go but with 1 million I'd still have to work for quite a while. And NZ is fairly expensive.

If I could go to Canada then yeah

Toronto is basically US. Plus I could still see the Yankees play in person 9 times a year. And we'd have an NBA/NHL team. And lots of Bills fans.

It would be cold AF tho. That would suck

You didn't really plan this out huh

For 2.5 mill each (5 total). Yes.

We’d head on down to New Zealand. Pretty good health care, natural beauty, off the international radar and stones throw to Australia.

Family could visit us;)

ETA: in both our professions we could continue our careers. Hell, she’d just transfer (Big 4)

One million isn't enough to retire on so you'd have to work, and most countries are even more picky than the US about granting visas and medical/retirement benefits to non-natives.

So probably not.

That said, Japan is offering lots of incentives to bring people in. If you don't mind the work of learning the language it's a very nice place to live.
