A 20-year-old Hammond man has been arrested and his brother is wanted after investigators linked both men to shootings in downtown Hammond, police said.
Hammond police, working with the FBI, executed a search warrant Friday at a residence off Log Cabin Lane for Chad Taylor, 20, in connection with a shooting on Apple Street on Aug. 4.

During the investigation, detectives uncovered evidence they said connected Taylor to a separate shooting in downtown Hammond on July 11. That evidence also implicated his brother, Shad Taylor, 20, in that shooting, according to police.
Chad Taylor was booked on charges including attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, two counts of illegal discharge of a firearm, three counts of aggravated criminal damage and aggravated obstruction of a highway.

"We will not tolerate these types of individuals victimizing our citizens and our city," Hammond Police Chief Edwin Bergeron Jr. said. "We want to thank our local, State, and federal partners, especially the FBI, who assisted in the takedown of the suspect this morning."
