If it does and i get flooded out in BR as a result, I'm following Walkers lead and suing people.

I think that would be an easy lawsuit to win for the residents of BR

BR would benefit from them loosing control and alligator bayou washing out. Ascension parish would become BR's drainage ditch.

ETA: unless of course you mean getting flooded from the inrush from bluff swamp, which won't happen. If the road disappeared right now, manchac would not rise about the level in bluff swamp, which is currently lower than manchac anyway.

Those Parish Presidents didn't like the way Kip self-anointed himself the King of Baton Rouge wth the Loop (RIP) project, so they decided to take that water threatening their constituents and send it back to EBR. If those dumbasses flood me with backwater after I narrowly dodged the initial bullet from Mother Nature they better have deep pockets. I will have a lawsuit filed with the swiftness. I'm sure one of the high powered shysters involved in the levee board lawsuit would love another opportunity to collect money.

is that a sign that the flow is going toward Amite more than BS?

Gotta be getting close based on water levels everywhere.

EDIT: Had Manchac/LP level wrong. Updated to 13.9'. Sorry.

This will not adversely affect CCLA. They are on the high water side of the levee. This is a risky move only for the Swamp folks and only if we get another event.

If Manchac bayou road had been lower, the flooding the last few days would have been less severe for Bayou Manchac, Bayou Fountain, etc.

I am no supernovasky, but it seems to me if Spanish Lake was at 13 feet and the Manchac was at 12, all of that water in Spanish Lake would rush the Manchac which is a more narrow area with less volume and trigger possible back flow all over again. My understanding is that the volume of water in that area is huge (from supernovasky).

Used to live in spring lake and I'd be damned if that area flooded

Doesn't matter. 13 feet is 13 feet. Manchac and bluff swamp would both equalize below the level of the highest one.

Rumor on ridge is that it actually went down a hair.

It hasn't changed measurably over the past 4 hours.

It has come up 1" at my house since I left for work at 5am. I'll take it, if it means the end is near.

I just drove over Manchac on Airline and I think it's flowing the right way. Didn't get a good look, but it looked to me like there was a little flowv towards the Amite

I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who is actively updating this thread with the current conditions in the Ridge area. I have family with a house that had about 4" left to spare this morning. Been sweating this out for days! I am encouraged to hear it may have at least stop rising. Going after to work to see if he survived the day.
