I don't think it's necessarily fair to compare the minority experiences as the same. There are other differences in how different groups were treated during the antebellum and post slavery that I wouldn't consider comparable. But I don't think this is the real problem that angers most you.

I think what most of you are upset about is the level of welfare and crime.

The crime is more a result of bad individual behavior due to lack of proper discipline. I agree that the only way to fix it is to fix broken homes. No amount of GOVT money can fix this.

I think the only way to deal with welfare is to create a "workfare" system where you have to work x number of hours for your business with jobs low wage jobs guaranteed by the government (your taxes are going to subsidize this anyway, may as well be working people).

The only logical way to do it without government would be if private industry created enough jobs for all the people. Based purely on the fact that private sector is more competitive, why do think they would attempt to carry that burden or that they are even capable of doing so.

The jobs are here, the will to work is not, do you see the droves of South/Central Americans coming in this country to work? But of course nobody wants "those" jobs, everybody wants to make a hundred grand a year doing very little and if they have to work they would just rather suck up a welfare check. And minorities are not alone .

As Walton and Johnson used to say, don't blame the ants, if you spill orange juice all over the counter at night and don't clean it up, and the next morning the counter is covered with ants, don't blame the ants , you are the one that left the sugar out.

Taxpayers are sick of supplementing the existence of the able-bodied who are lazy. Color is unimportant.

One thing black people have to do is change their world view. I feel like many in the black community have a teen rebel attitude that they never grow out of. They like to rebel against white society, even if they are unaware they are doing it, even in small ways.

They still haven't truly assimilated, and until they accept the society in which they live, they'll always have problems.

White teenagers have this same mentality. That's why they are always angry. They are constantly questioning society and "sticking it to the man". But they generally grow out of that rebel phase and conform and become productive members of society.

So if black people (I'm speaking in generalities of course) can change their thinking and leave behind their rebel mindset, they would be happier, would better adhere to the common values of society, and the problems that start at home with the family could be repaired.

The best plan is stop it all. You don't work, you don't eat unless you've saved up or a private charity feeds you.

All it takes is motivation and hard work by the individual. Put on a smile and stop being a lazy turd. I don't care if it's McDonald's or garbage pick-up.

ive gotten numerous "I wish you worked here" by people that didn't think highly of asians throughout my years growing up. Put in some damn work people.

So....if black people would just be more like white people, everything would be cool.

Seems legit.

Oh, and First Page.

This will not end well.

You realize that things like food stamps, section 8 housing and Medicaid are actually corporate subsidies that feed the labor model of Wal Mart, McDonalds, etc?

Fwiw, "welfare" is also a term that is quite often misused. The only true "welfare" program in Louisiana, Mississippi and alabama is TANF. 60 month lifetime limit and lots of regulations.

If by that you mean contributing members of society with respect of private property trying to keep their credit score up, then yes and color wouldn't matter.

No, that's not what I'm saying.

I used the example of white teenagers having the same mentality. So you missed the point.

You implied that the teens' whiteness is what allowed them to get out of their rebellious phase.
