We should have 4 people to cover our territory (gulf coast and about 30 mil in business). 2 guys quit and we have had 2 for over a year now.
Until we get some help it will be a 7.5 or so.
How much do y'all pay , and will a GED suffice ...

you should be getting back to that shitty job as well
Dick. It's a lot of hanging out really, 530am-430pm. You know, just normal operating hours. Junior Camp started today, so there's a bunch of little frickers running around while I have a couple Pedros out there hauling dump trailers and big tractors.

90% of the time a 3
10% a 10
10% a 10

95% of jobs are probably 4 at the very hardest, maybe a 5.
Neurosurgeons, Astronauts, Fire Fighters/Disaster Response, etc. - those are the 9's and 10's.

When it's the equivalent to flying a jet with 3 engines out and the instruments non-functional in complete fog over a mountain range, it's a 10. A situation i've been in far too many times over the last year and a half. Fortunately, things are better now, though my jet fuel has been replaced with an ethanol blend...

Hard as in physical labor...1. I fly a desk.
Hard as in mentally tough...4. It has its moments that I can be stumped.
Hard as in dealing with people...6. Sometimes you have those people.
Hard as in dealing with boredom...8.
I don't get paid for what I do, I get paid for what I know. Problem is it can get boring sometimes until something breaks.
This is dead on for me as well.

This is one job where location determines the scale i have a buddy who sleeps most of the time for 2 days and works another full time job . Most of the sleep comes while working as a small town firefighter.

That's kind of why I grouped them with Disaster response. For anyone in that KIND of work, they might be active 10% of the time, but that 10% is probably much harder than most other jobs on the planet. But would totally agree about location.

Mine is a 3, only because I have been in the industry 18 years and have made an effort to always be learning something new. For someone new in the field, it's probably a between 7-10 depending on the day and project.

I would say 8 as far as what it takes to get to do what I do, but I do enjoy it most of the time so maybe a 5 average, but stress can be a 9, because of this not many people do it...

Not sure if this is a troll or not, but most people in this job have a background in being a technician working with the product for years or a degree in industrial tech or engineering, with a few years experience.

Well, I'm in Caddo. That should give you an idea.

If not, then c'mon man, how hard can it be to sit in front of a class full of 13 year olds for 8 months out of the year?
To be an ineffective teacher. It would be quite easy.

Car sales at a non-negotiating dealership. I know my job is easier than it would be at a more traditional store but I still have to deal with stupid people (aka most of my wonderful customers) all the time.

Customers can be a pain but my employees are what make my job difficult. It is hard to find people who come in, do the job they agreed to do, then leave.

I'd say like a 4-5 for the most part.
The messed up social situations I see at work makes that 4-5 creep up more. Caring for kids hurt cause of abuse can be very emotionally draining. Even more so when the parents you think are responsible for the abuse are still at the bedside and you can't say how you really feel about them.
