I agree with you. Integrity needs to be taught, and even expected. Those who mess up should be punished.
That doesn’t change the fact that it can be hard, and sometimes otherwise good people have failed.

He was forging checks and "intercepting" monies intended for the Foundation and hiding the money in numerous accounts here and overseas . I did not get the amount, but when you bring in IRS enforcement guys(the ones with guns)it's a big amount. Some members of the board got suspicious about 12-18 months ago, told him about it...they did not even suspect him, he actually OK'd the hiring of Deloite.

This thread will get whacked, but I'm sure he engaged in this calculated pattern of deceptive and dishonest behavior without any nefarious intent!

You're the first person to mention his race. Congrats, I guess.

He's a great guy and comes from a great family, let's just let all the facts come to light before we judge him!

He looks like a criminal.

Gingers have no souls, so he probably had no qualms about it even as he was doing it.

He couldn’t take that time to cover his tracks or head overseas? Something seems fishy when you are told by members of your board “12-18 months ago” then OK the hiring of Deloitte.
On the other hand, OLOL does not drop a press release saying “ patterns of forgery and embezzlement.”
Something not adding up.

Like I said, looks like a criminal.

So are we for unanimous juries or not? If the burden is 12, dude's odds will be a bit better.

I don't know much more than what I've already communicated. But I'm sort of with you on this that he did not try to skip town after the investigation started. But as an old mentor of mine used to say, "Once you feel the heat, it's too late."

So who gets the call? Unglesby? Mike Small? Some big swinging dick from out of state?

Gotta be Unglesby
Possibly one of the former AUSAs out of New Orleans.

WAFB's article says his attorney, Walt Green, has no comment at this time and could not say whether or not his client has received formal charges.
Walt Green handles white collar criminal defense and cybercrimes, is a partner at Phelps Dunbar, is a former USA for the central district of Louisiana and AUSA in Nevada, and is a USMC Colonel, assuming it's the same guy.
